Duo'd this big boy tonight on Oakwynd TLP, in Velious era. 60 Paladin, 60 Enchanter. It was a good fight. Enchanter got a lucky Slow on him, probably thanks to Tash. Along with the 51 charmed pet with all the buffs both classes could manage, we took him down. No loot, sadly :( But felt good taking down a 66 named mob with just a couple level 60s.
just duoed him with a 71 monk 61 druid, was running through WW to turn in the sleepers key, saw him up, tracked to him, dropped 1.5 clicky effect on the monk, and innerflame...he went down in about a minute, snareable. casted two natures renewals, which werent all that necessary. didnt even feel like i needed to use mend, he dropped a velium mastadon fur.
68 beast and could not get slow to stick. tried to tank with warder in rogue position, but on self buffs only, proved how squishy beasts could be. backed off and pet tanked till out of mana--hit warder with last heal mana would support and used gate pot to beat a retreat.
noticed severeal flurries against warder. probably not *too* bad if i coulda got a slow to stick and me and warder had tenacity, but as it was, nearly stomped me and warder into messy slush.
warder focused with MoD and self buffed with full compliment of eidolon armour and walnans.
Ths mob is easily soloable by a druid that has DC just charm a brontherium buff it up and aggro kite the thing took him down in about 2 minutes by nuking him and let pet stun him from behind didnt drop anything
Necros, the 67 pet with the Minion of Darkness focus stuns Tantor if he hits from the back, darkness wont stick. After a few tries I quit casting darkness but maybe 1 of 30 will stick like the druids posts above. When my pet would stun him I would just nuke with our 1200 lifetap. He runs at around jboot/run3 speed so get a run speed buff, i dont recommend a mount. I tried to tap tank him the first time but got killed, he doesnt hit too hard but he hits fast and stuns. Highest hit was 375ish i think. 70 nec, 7.5k hp buffed, 6300 mana. Pyre of Mori stuck on him too, and maybe Fang of Death and Funeral Pyre if you try it.

62 druid soloed him, had only self buffs (Cabbage, Mask of the Hunter, SoE). Had to Glamour of Tunare, snare, charm velium hounds and sic em on him. Took a while, managed to sneak in a few dots. Didn't drop anything, will try again later.
extremely resistant to root and i was using Greater Fetter. I tried rooting him at least 10 times before i gave up. Took snare on first cast though, coulda been a fluke. I used draught of Ro. Doing full damage of the spell took him down 2% health. Going by that, he has about 50k HP's.
soloed as a bard, took about 15 minutes with a pet for some of the time, got a few adds including harla dar, but he dropped the tusk for me. mega hp, but melee kinda weak, hit for about 300 max, probably less. doesnt summon, over all pretty easy.
Killed him today, he dropped nothing (or I lost his corpse killing the add).
Self buffed with SoE / Eyepatch of plunder, fight took around 15 mins or so (enough time for ensnare to drop from an add).
Snare didnt stick till 40%, up till then was fairly tough to bowkite, was going to do the whole fight with him unsnared, but got lucky when snare hit, after that was fairly easy.
Soloed him last night...charmed a Brontotherium (sp) and sent that on him...while that was holding his attention I used glamour of tunare and started trying to snare him. Landed snare on 2nd try and by then he killed my pet. Ran around and found a wolf and charmed it then agrro kited him to death. Went thru 3 charmed wolves before he died and was chain snaring the whole time to keep aggro (landed about 3 snares total). dropped nothing..bastage.
ouchies, i tried to solo him. as a mage, just chain casting pets, and well, right now i am typing this as i get my res =\ he resisted debuff, so after my earth pet died he ran to me, i got a new earth pet up, but sence i nuked him a few times, he liked me more then my pet, so he and a few friends started chasing me, they focused on my pet for few seconds till he died. so sence i am a silly magician and he wont kill me again, i am going to do it the boring and way kite him around with 62 water pet for awhile, he runs at or just below run 3. he is yellow at 65, and i only got him to 77%, but i used all my pimpin' AAs (mini pets, SoR, and FB) just getting a SoW and waiting for my pet to back stab him for 252! and maybe i will get buffed.
Has conned yellow every time I have seen him so has been level 66. In three kills has dropped one hide and one tusk.
Snare and charm a bronto or mammoth, buff pet, send pet to attack Tantor. Cast GOT (Glamour of Tunare) on Tantor after pet has aggro, then start casting snare until it sticks. Tantor resists snare a lot (and I have never had root stick) After he is snared, start dotting/nuking Tantor to get more aggro to convert into a simple aggro kite. As posted already, Tantor runs, when snared, a little faster than snared pet, so run around Tantor in circle to keep pet at Tantor's heels.
If Tantor kills pet before turning aggro on you, kite Tantor around and charm new pet. If snare does not stick before first pet dead, consider either succor to start over, or run out of aggro range, get new pet, send pet, try again. I haven't tried it, but I suspect it's a bad idea to try to kite Tantor unsnared. Once you have the aggro kite going, keep aggro by dotting and nuking Tantor. And remember, when the fight takes long enough, you may have to recast snare to keep Tantor on snare
Whacked him last night. Glamor, snare, run run run, snare, run run run, snare stick. Then standard FAST dots. 61 druid, kei, fresh soe, REGROWTH. Only had time to cast WD and drifting death (with decayed ceramic skull haste). No time for clicky or epic (hes too fast). Breath of ro too unreliable and mana intensive. Had Coldain bracer to boost dot damage. 20 min kill.
Soloed him. Lv 65 wiz with 64aa FT6 with SH4,MP4, Extended Range 4, KEI,Sow, Virtue and Cleric Spell haste (10%). ~4800 mana pool. Full speed kited him using Lure of Ro to nuke.
He caught up with me twice. Each time, He flurried on me for ~1000hp. I'm not sure but he might have warped or my flux staff gave an incorrect range due to terrain.
I soloed him tonight, third time I've done so. He can be snared, but it only lands about 2% of the time. Once snared I just dot him to death. Not much sense rooting him, it does land (rarely) but he breaks Savage Roots pretty quickly. He did enrage at 10%, but cooled off at 8%, not that I cared since I was nowhere near him. When he hits, he hits hard (500-600 x2 if I remember correctly).
Unfortunately, he hasn't dropped any loot in the three times I've done this...oh well...
While I admire people for posting here, I need to make some corrections here. Tantor /cons Yellow to a 65 Druid. He could NOT be slowed by a 65 Shammy. He could NOT be snared by me. He had some MR cause some of my evoc spells would not land. He could be dotted. I landed Imolation of Ro several times. He hits in the 120-200s depending and flurries. The two times we took him down, he did not enrage either dispite his level. Our group was 65 Druid w/DC pet, 65 Shammy w/pet, 65 Cleric.
Deverin Quartermoons Storm Warden of Tunare Celestial Navigators @ Vazaelle
Took him down today. 58 Druid/47 Warrior. Fight lasted 30mins. Couldn't land Ensnare or Fear. Only Resisted Winged Death once. We ran him about the zone, with the War chasing and hacking away, only lost Aggro once when I got to far away. Massive amounts of HP, regen seemed Minimal. Didn't take enough Damage to know what he hits for normally, but lowest on me was 150. Very Fast mob, just enough time to cast WD on him with Extended Range 3 item equiped. Used SoE for Movement. Dropped nothing. Hope that helps some.
