Respec Stones

Respec stones for everyone!
When 1.94 went live last week, the Mythic Respec for every character was inadvertently left out.  Since adding them would require server downtime, we will grant them with our next scheduled downtime.  Because of the delay involved, we have decided to give all characters one free full respec stone.  The stone, Luminescent Iterare Stone (not tradeable), can be received by visiting the "Royal Accountant" NPCs that are now located right outside each of the Capital City Throne Room entrances.

/who Command

Quick note from the Herald:
We just wanted to let everyone know that we are aware of the issue with the /who command not working correctly at the moment. We are investigating it and hope to have it resolved soon. Thanks everyone for the reports!

Hot Fixes

A few hot fix notes today for the live servers:
TUTORIAL NOTES
- (The Bear Necessities) - The bear cubs needed for this quest are populating again properly.

- (A Run for Hides) - The bear cubs needed for this quest are populating again properly.

- Midgard - When players are dropped at the end of the boat ride to the nearby island, they will no longer be transported to the wrong dock.

GHOST KEEP NOTES
- (The Summoning) - The maximum completions for this quest have been removed. This fixes an issue where the maximum was erroneously set to three after the live patch last week.

EVENT NOTES
- With the arrival of summer, the Rites of Spring no longer apply! This means that our spring event has come to a close. The quests and quest givers for this event will no longer be accessible after today.

It's the Grab Bag!

It's Friday, so that means the Grab Bag is here!

Q. My Question is about skilling up Spellcrafting. I thought that I had read in an earlier Grab Bag that if you crafted an item that conned red or orange to you and were successful your skill would always go up a point as opposed to trying to skill up using yellow to green items (the chances of always raising your trade skills were not as high). I was crafting in TNN and noticed that I wasn’t always seeing my skill raise as I made each gem, and in fact, it sometimes took 5+ successes before I would see a single point raise in my trade skills. Is this normal or was there a change or something that I missed?

A. Someone by the name of the Lady of Jewels seems like the perfect one to ask: Making a tradeskill recipe will never guarantee a skill up, no matter what the recipe cons to you I'm afraid. However, we did increase skill up chances across all tradeskills in a previous patch cycle.

Q. With the release of the ‘Origins’ server, are there still going to be patches on the live ToA servers for those of us who choose not to move?

A. The Bearded Wonder explains that the ‘Origins’ server is just another ruleset server: Updates and content for all servers will be ongoing.

Servers Coming Down

More downtime:
The servers are coming down at 4:30 for an immediate update to address issues with older characters being unable to log in properly. As you can imagine, this is a very important issue and although we hate to interrupt Friday night play time as much as you hate missing it, this must be addressed immediately.

Edit 7:30 PM EST: Bossiney, Devon, Gaheris, and Mordred are now up.

This update addressed the following issues:

  • Characters that are more than five years old are once again able to log in to the game.
  • Acuity spells once again only affect "pure" casters.

We expect the remainder of the servers to be back around 10:00 PM EST. As always keep an eye here for updates, and we're sorry for the short notice and inconvenience. Thank you!

1.95a is Now on Pendragon

Origins and Beyond, Test Version 1.95a Release Notes are up and running on the Pendragon test server, check 'em out:
NEW THINGS AND BUG FIXES
 - A number of horse routes throughout the classic zones have been modified to be more convenient. In addition, flight routes have been added to provide a faster mode of transportation to and from certain locations.

 - Several travel ticket names in housing have been changed to refer to the name of the location they go to as opposed to the name of the stable master they go to.

 - The in-game '/help' menu has been updated to reflect the travel route changes.

 - A new, more visible, quest indicator has been added which replaces the previous ring around the feet. The new indicator floats above the quest giver's head.

 - We have begun to make behind the scenes changes and additions in preparation for the launch of the Origins ruleset.

NEW FRONTIERS NOTES
  - Pathing at the relic temples has been updated to prevent area damage spells from affecting people through the relic temple walls.

Hot Fix

Hot fix note:
Here is a Ghost Keep hot fix for you today:

- The recharge turn-in for the Ring of Undead Quickening reward given during the Ghost Keep Event is now working properly again.

Welcome to 1.94!

Rest Stops and Housing Love, Version 1.94 Release Notes are here:
In Version 1.94, we addressed the various housing options available to players and made some adjustments. We wanted to make larger homes a more viable choice, as opposed to owning two smaller homes, by lowering the prices of both deeds and rent, as well as add additional vault space to accommodate the growing need for more storage. In addition to the housing changes, we have added the "Rest Experience" feature, which allows players to accumulate a certain amount of bonus experience that is built up based on where they log out.

As we move forward onto future patches, we will continue to add more updates to housing and expand upon other elements that have made Dark Age of Camelot thrive. The changes in this patch and much of the design of the upcoming Origins server are the result of player feedback. We want to encourage our players to continue utilizing the feedback form here on the Camelot Herald and we hope that this patch will give you a taste of things to come.
