The Scrying Pool: Housing Story

In each article of The Scrying Pool, I look at what is and what could be. After taking a look at what is present in Guild Wars 2 now, be that lore or game mechanics, I then ask What If? What if this happened in the lore or this feature was added in a future patch. For this week however, I wanted to do something a little different and tell you a story.

The Scrying Pool: Cantha

In each article of The Scrying Pool, I look at what is and what could be. After taking a look at what is present in Guild Wars 2 now, be that lore or game mechanics, I then ask What If? What if this happened in the lore or this feature was added in a future patch.

Cantha has been a great topic of debate. In Divinity's Reach, the Human racial city within GW2, there exists the Ascalonian and Elonian districts, but the area that would have been the Canthan district holds nothing but the Great Collapse.

The Scrying Pool: Hall of Guilds

In each article of The Scrying Pool, I look at what is and what could be. After taking a look at what is present in Guild Wars 2 now, be that lore or game mechanics, I then ask What If? What if this happened in the lore or this feature was added in a future patch.

One of the largest areas in Guild Wars 2 that has been lacking content or overall polish since launch is guilds. Things have gotten a little better since the addition of guild missions gave a larger purpose to guilds as well as providing content for a guild to do together, but there is still room for improvement with features like last online checks and community message boards or calendars. What is possibly the most desired improvement for guilds is the addition of guild halls.

The Scrying Pool: The Sixth Race

In each article of The Scrying Pool, I look at what is and what could be. After taking a look at what is present in Guild Wars 2 now, be that lore or game mechanics, I then ask What If? What if this happened in the lore or this feature was added in a future patch.

Last week The Scrying Pool checked out what an expansion might look like in Guild Wars 2 as well as some of the core features that would potentially change in an expansion sized content drop. This week’s article will continue this expansion view by looking at potential new races.

The Scrying Pool: No Expansion!?

In each article of The Scrying Pool, I look at what is and what could be. After taking a look at what is present in Guild Wars 2 now, be that lore or game mechanics, I then ask What If? What if this happened in the lore or this feature was added in a future patch.

Expansion has been a big topic of conversation the last week for GW2, triggered by a pair of interviews: ZAM’s interview with Studio Design Director Chris Whiteside and an interview with Lead Content Designer Mike Zadorojny.

The most talked about part of these interviews was a single line by Mike Z where he said “We will probably never do an expansion and everything will be going into this Living World strategy.” This line even became the title line for the interviewer’s article.

The Scrying Pool: Too Much Gear

In each article of The Scrying Pool, I look at what is and what could be. After taking a look at what is present in Guild Wars 2 now, be that lore or game mechanics, I then ask What If? What if this happened in the lore or this feature was added in a future patch.

The Scrying Pool: Get It While It's Hot

In each article of The Scrying Pool, I look at what is and what could be. After taking a look at what is present in Guild Wars 2 now, be that lore or game mechanics, I then ask What If? What if this happened in the lore or this feature was added in a future patch.

About a month ago The Scrying Pool talked about the Living Story. The Flame and Frost content had just released its final patch with the new story arc in Southsun not yet released. That article was focused on the story. What we had already seen and what could we see in future stories. This week is again about the Living Story, but this time focusing on a side effect of its living design: limited time content.

The Scrying Pool: Will Deeps for Arah

In each article of The Scrying Pool, I look at what is and what could be. After taking a look at what is present in Guild Wars 2 now, be that lore or game mechanics, I then ask What If? What if this happened in the lore or this feature was added in a future patch.

The Scrying Pool: Solo Spelunker

In each article of The Scrying Pool, I look at what is and what could be. After taking a look at what is present in Guild Wars 2 now, be that lore or game mechanics, I then ask What If? What if this happened in the lore or this feature was added in a future patch.

The Scrying Pool: Wardrobe Malfunction

In each article of The Scrying Pool, I look at what is and what could be. After taking a look at what is present in Guild Wars 2 now, whether that be lore or game mechanics, I then ask What If? What if this happened in the lore or this feature was added in a future patch.

The gem store seems to really be working for Guild Wars 2. ArenaNet has just announced a permanent  cut in the box price for GW2, a testament to its confidence in the game not needing a drastic price cut as well as confidence in its gem store to continue to thrive.

One of the big real estate items in the gem store is Town Clothing. The town clothing however, doesn't seem to live up as the big ticket items that the gem store showcases them as.
