May 20th Game Updates

Plane of Sky Corrected an issue that was preventing proper progression through the final 5th chain of islands. Plane of Disease Areas within the Plane of Disease have been tuned for better experience hunting. Abilities Level 46 Wizard Spell Greater Energy Storm now has a more appropriate lighting effect. Mage Lightning Storm spell now has a more appropriate lighting effect. Items Dazzling mace is now useable by all races Heavy Iron Sai and Plagued Rapier are now 1 hand piercing weapons Lorgar's Hoop is now equipable Nobel plate armor from the Plane of Disease is no longer Ranger useable and instead now properly includes Paladins.

EverQuest Online Adventures Game Update for 5/6/04

Some more planar lovin' for you guys: Nearly a year ago, EQOA unlocked a secret new zone, the Isle of Dread. Today, we unlock another! The Plague storyline continues, bringing new challenges, treasure, encounters, adventure and even travel to the all new Plane of Disease! Items: Blessed tattered gloves now appropriately have a charisma modifier Wind worn set of items now modify STA and INT, rather than STR and INT as they did previously Coldfire Grimoire and Pyromantic Ether now have correct graphics when equipped Naturewalkers amulet is now equipable by Halflings (can't forget the Halflings!) Silverwood belt, boots and bracers have revised statistics leading to additional +hp Enchanted Treant Root, Ebon Mandible and Force of Mind weapons now have revised proc effects NPCs: The Hand of Thule is now more resistant to charm. Necromancer Pet Invis: Necromancers can now use new Class Mastery abilities (found under the Death's Sacrament category) to change the look of their 60 pet and 60 weapon spec pet. Through this, a Necro can decide if they want the bone look of the pet, which can be covered by invisibility, or the more sinister looking red swarm pet, which cannot be invis'd.

EQOA Updates for April 15th

We made some updates today to the new Plague quests as well as to the associated ability rewards. EverQuest Online Adventures: Game Update for Thursday, April 15th Quest Abilities: Created new Animator ability Rune of the Stormlord for Animator's that have obtained the Stormlord's Touch ability and the associated Mastery. Created Slayer version of Hand of Bertoxxulous, Curse of Bertoxxulous, and the Mastery to obtain it for those Slayers that have received the Hand of Bertoxxulous ability. Increased Duration of Mithril Skin from 2 minutes to 5 minutes. Slightly increased base ac bonus of Immortal Skin, added agility modifier of 10%, and increased duration from 2 minutes to 5 minutes. Created new Defender mastery Immortal Guard for Defenders that have obtained the Immortal Skin ability from the Last House event quest. Increased damage of new druid damage shield ability Briarcoat and the associated mastery ability Protection of Karana. Created new Sensai mastery ability "Touch of Nife" associated with the new quest ability "Mending of Nife". Changed new Enchanter ability Stormlord's Touch, from pet only to targetable, removed the Int buff component, and added dex mod to damage. Created new Anarchic Reign mastery ability Stormlord's Rune and the associated Mastery. Changed new Necro Pet proc buff from a dot to a dd that does more damage than their current proc. Quests: Corrected an issue with the Level 55 and Level 57 Rathe Mountains quest where flagging to progress the quest might not correctly happen after a monster was slain. Corrected an issue with Plague Quests where Rodcet Nife could despawn before you had received your reward. If this happens, talk to Ammathor and respawn Rodcet again so you can complete the quest.

EQOA: Game Update details and a new dueling video!

EverQuest Online Adventures updated today with the continuation of our Plague Plot. Below are the details of the update. Issues surrounding the Bertoxxulan Pox worsen. Creatures who had contracted the Pox and perished are rising from their shallow graves as undead! The quest for a cure continues, with even more urgency! All new quests and adversaries have been added in the continuation of this series. Fight for the side of good and quest in the pursuit of a cure and to put a stop to this threat once and for all. Evil minded characters have new avenues available to them to turn these events to their advantage and find profit and gain in this time of ruinous turmoil. Items: Ring of understanding is now Mage usable Winds of Ro boots are now Erudite useable Loot from Kappa Guards now stack Quests: Increased drop rate of the quest item on black wolf cubs for Western Human level 13 mage quest. Player vs. Player Corrected an issue that could lead to a player receiving EXP Debt at the close of a very close duel, or dying to a damage over time spell after winning a duel.

The Moment You All Have Been Waiting For!

Who will be the victor? Who will suffer the ignominy of defeat? Consensual dueling Player versus Player conflict to be added to EverQuest Online Adventures! The questions have been posed for so long. “Who would win a straight up one on one? A would path, backstabbing rogue? The “mana bomb” touting Wizard? Will a Blood path Shadowknight overcome a Lay-on-Hands Guardian Master Class Paladin? Now you can find out as the ability to duel other players is added to EQOA. Also, put your money where your mouth is with the wagering feature. You can place bets on the outcome of your duel, including items. The bet is stored in a safe, auction-like reserve, pending the outcome of the combat. So talk all the smack you like, but when it comes time to put your mettle to the test, don’t bet the farm because you may just lose it! Alex von Minden, Community Relations Manager for EQOA comments on the update, “We are really excited to bring PvP to EQOA. It has been a long standing request of our players and we wanted to make sure it was introduced in manner that wouldn’t disrupt the games existing Player versus Environment balance. Dueling is perfect for that.” Alex further comments on timing of the new feature, “We have everything looking good in our test environment and hope to bring it live during the week of April 5th to the 9th.” Let the battles commence!

New Signs Point Toward Strife

Strange rumors of ill omens seem more and more to be on everyone’s lips. Tales flow from tavern to tavern like ripples across a still pond. Druids point to subtle, yet ominous, changes in the wildlife and plants. Guards and Lawmakers comment on feelings of restlessness and unease in the towns and cities they steward. Priests and Spiritual Leaders can see trouble brewing ahead, like a dense fog wrapping a high mountain road in a shroud of dangerous obscurity. Individually, these portents seem nothing more than an average day in the harsh living that is Norrath. However, when considered together it is clear that the winds of change are blowing. While only minor, twisted zephyrs now, the astute can see the gathering gales looming not far out. NOTE: I know what this about, but I have been sworn to secrecy on pain of death by Bordael. :)
