Updates for June 30th

Two Seperate Updates for EQOA Today, click on read more to read all about it. Update 1.) We corrected some minor issues that cropped up from the Legacy of Wegadas update, including: Repeatability of quests Masteries that were displaying as level 1 were set to display as 30. This was merely a display issue since other prerequisites were keeping them from being obtained. Removed Atlas of Qeynos from rewards. Update 2.) We needed to update the servers again to address an issue that allowed people to duplicate coin or items. Please know that we take such action as duping, which can have a huge disrupting effect on the game, very seriously. Through log files we are able to track those who engaged in duping activities. We ask that anyone who has benefits obtained through this exploit to immediately delete it. Abilities Cleric Resist Path alternate Class Mastery versions are now available. Clerics who obtained resist spells in their class path quests now have access to alternate, and potentially more useful, versions via a zero cost Class Mastery. Game Updates For Tuesday 29th

The Legacy of Wegadas Centuries from now, croniclers will dig through musty texts and volumes, deciphering and piecing together the histories of the very times which now roll by. One notable figure, that more than one historian will ponder, is the mighty Druid Wegadas. His actions, teachings and prodigy will have a marked impact on the world. EverQuest Online Adventures continues to evolve. With this update we bring you all new character advancement options, abilities and quests as we reveal more of the rich fantasy that is Norrath. As to what exactly this entails, well, we would rather not say. No reason to spoil the collective fun of discovery! So, join with your friends, your guild and your community to uncover the Legacy of Wegadas! Items: We made a pass over generic cash loot and corrected a number of items to be able to stack. Necromancers can now use the Winestone robe Abilities: Reduced unintended stacking possibilities of Cleric Mark abilities and associated Class Mastery Brand abilities. Some stacking still possible, but not to the previous extent.

EverQuest Online Adventures Game Update for 6/4/04

I know this is late, but i've been out of town, chances are you already know all of this, but here it is anyways: Dead Hills Revamp In our continuing efforts to respond to customer feedback, we have revamped the Dead Hills zone in the Rathe Mountains as a higher level experience hunting area. Monsters now range from the mid 40's up to level 60. Areas where quest NPCs were located have not been changed, so quests involving that area should still be doable and accessible. Plane of Sky We have updated the Quintessence of Veeshan encounter. We are working on new zone wide quests that will involve the Quintessence, but unfortunately, those were not ready for this update. Look for more details about these new quests in our next game update. We have also corrected a faction issue on the 2nd Island in the 5th chain. The attack on the village should work better now. Wizards We have not forgotten our promise to address sustained and blast spells, however those changes were not yet ready for this update. Look for more details in our next update. Elephant Graveyard The Sphere of Annihilation is slightly more difficult Items Mage cromatic boots are now red to better match the armor set Kappa coin loot sandy brick slabs and Kobald ivory trinkets now stack The ankexfen sphynx crown is now an equipable item Erudites and Halflings can now also use the Marble Column

EverQuest Online Adventures game update for 5/28/04

Fixes abound in the Planes, and some Wizard lovin' too! Plane of Sky Corrected an issue with progression from Island 2 to 3. Teleportation should be working properly now. Plane of Disease Bertox should return to full health after he has defeated all who oppose him. Corrected a geometry issue in Bertox's area. Wizards Wizards are now roughly 17% more efficient! This is the first step in a repass of Wizard abilities to address balance concerns with their performance in raid and group settings. Power costs were slightly reduced on all direct damage spells from level 12 on up. Dexterity modifier moved from 60% to 70% and a slight increase in base damage. Next items for review are issues surrounding "sustained" type spells for group effectiveness and "blast" type spells for burst damage output, including continued power cost and damage revision, recast rates and cast times. Shadowknights Death Knight master class pet resist buff should now stack Areas A new danger roams the lands known as the Elephant Graveyard. Adventurers in those areas should be vigilant for this new danger! NPCs Centaur Archers in the Elephant Graveyard area should now be more in line with their intended difficulty. Pariah of Xragg monsters in Elephant Graveyard now lifetap for slightly more damage Look for a clue in Qeynos about the use of the mysterious Black Lotus

Volunteer Guide Program Announced!

We are in the process of adapting the very successful volunteer program from EverQuest on the PC to EQOA and we are looking for interested players to get involved! In our continuing efforts to enhance the online community that is EverQuest Online Adventures, we are looking to incorporate a very successful element from EverQuest on the PC: the volunteer Guide Program. Currently, the EverQuest Guide Program is an officially sanctioned, self-administered, voluntary group of knowledgeable EQ players who volunteer their time to support and educate the other EverQuest players to create an enjoyable and immersive Role Playing experience. Some examples of activities that EQOA Guide members may participate in could include, but not be limited to: conducting Question and Answer circles, designing and implementing role play events, participating in dynamic events, collecting player feedback, assisting new players, making EQOA Customer Support aware of community issues and conducting in game player ceremonies. Overall, the focus is on fun, rewarding activities to make a great online community even better. We also want to describe some of the things volunteer guides are not: EQOA Volunteer Guides are not in game Customer Support Representatives or GM's. EQOA Guides are not employees or contractors of Sony Online Entertainment, they are not supervised or directed by Sony Online Entertainment and they are not paid for their activities. We do appreciate the effort you may put forth in volunteering for the EQOA volunteer guide program and we may flag participating, eligible Guide Program members' play account free for the duration of their involvement in the program. We will also make available an additional account for volunteer Guides to use to conduct their in game and message forum activities. However, Guides shall not adventure with characters on this supplied account as they are only for use in the activities that will be defined by the Volunteer Guide Program. Guides will also be expected to only participate in activities on servers where they do not have play characters in order to cut down on abuse of Guide abilities. Further checks and balances will be outlined by the Guide Program. If this sounds like something you would be interested in and you are 18 years of age or older, then we invite your participation. We have set up an email alias for prospective participants for the EQOA Volunteer Guide Program to write to. Interested parties should write to: eqoa-guides@soe.sony.com with the subject line of: EQOA Volunteer Guide Program The body of the email communication should include a brief summation of your previous play experience in EverQuest Online Adventures and why you are interested in being involved in the EQOA Guide Program. Please also include your EQOA Message Forum Handle. If you do not have a Message Forum Handle, please register for the EQOA Fan Club at http://everquestonlineadventures.station.sony.com/registration/register.jsp to obtain one. Those selected for involvement will be given access to a new, private message forum on the EQOA message boards to hammer out the program's details. We hope you join us in the formation of what will surely be a great addition to EQOA's online community!
