You become the cannon, literally. Use arrows to turn around, then 1 to fire, 2 to shield and 3 to repulse.

After the easy first two steps you will be attacked by hordes of soldiers! This is when 2 and 3 come in. Don't forget to continue firing (1) as well, as the cannon will short-target, basically hitting any legitimate target that is in line with the way the cannon is facing.
