This is a Guide Quest. On Live servers it can only be received from a Guide. On Test there are no guides so NPCs exist there to give out the quests.
After speaking to a Volunteer Guide who is offering this quest, read the following book received in your inventory:
One of the greatest tinkerers of all time, at least according to him, offered to teach me a new tinkering recipe that he alone discovered. It seems he is missing the schematics he made. He provided me with his journal detailing his journey through the Withered Lands and asked that I retrieve the schematics. Once they are retrieved I can make on of the contraptions for myself!
NOTE: If you previously competed this quest and A Romp Through Withered Lands disappeared from your inventory, you can get a copy from Shady Swashbuckler XVIII.
Find the following:
- Recover the schematic for the torso housing ( -3930.38, -721.64, -1264.72 ) (inside K'val Ruins, in the back plant room on the lower level)
- Recover the schematic for the master control ( -1963.60, -535.56, -309.35 ) (located on top of nearby rock)
- Recover the schematic for the logistical evaluation gyrosyncronus systems ( -962.16, -639.62, -834.35 ) (in Holgresh Pass; a level 95^ named can spawn in front of the page location)
- Recover the schematic for the arming... arms ( -90.69, -745.22, -216.81 ) (located in the swamp under a tree with bubbles. Mobs will spawn as you approach)
- Recover the schematic for the gnomish positioning sweeper ( 394.66, -744.24, -117.57 ) (located just past the swamp on the Hive of the Rogue sand)
When you have obtained all of the items, the quest will auto-complete.
