Druids and PVP

When u come to an arena, especially a 2v2, when people see a druid they probably think its over. This is because the druids are one of the best suited classes for pvp. For example their different speccs. If you are facing a resto druid, as a melee you probably wont stand a chance, exept for 2v1 with rogues. This is because the druids are very good survivors, with many spells in their book. You could try to stunlock them, but in bear form they probably have too much HP and armor for that to work. If you go for a full nuke they can easily escape with Cyclone, Nature's Grasp and travel form. If slow dps is your way, and your trying to make them oom, they probably wont be before your healer is, or your dps is dead, since even a resto druid under attack can do damage. They have two different DoTs, Insect Swarm and Moonfire. These two DoTs might not seem much but versus a rogue that 2% miss from the Insect Swarm really helps out. On the other hand they might throw a few DoTs on your healer while ccing and running from you. The best way to counter a resto druid is full nuke, preferrably on their teammate. The reason this is key is because druids under pressure of healing aren't that good actually, they are mostly survivors. A druid trying to heal their rogue (This is one of the most common teams for a druid) that has a warrior on it will probably end up failed or oom. Another way to beat them is switching target alot, making them waste mana on putting HoTs on someone that isn't under attack.

If you on the other hand are facing a feral druid, the way of beating them is entierly different. A feral druid usually has about 4-5k mana. This can be used as your advantage if they are in combo with another dps. If you keep the main damage on the other dps, maybe keeping DoTs up on the druid, when they go up to heal is the time for you to strike. Most of the PVP items for feral druids give healing, so you can trust in that a druid will try to heal his mate in trouble. But in caster form, the druid is much more vounrable and the mana cost for their forms is high. If you at the moment he tries to heal interrupt him and start attacking him he will probably hop back in to bear form. At this point u keep someone who is ready to interrupt on the druid and the other one takes down the last health of the other dps. If you are facing a feral druid with a healer, the tactics are roughly the same. The only difference is that the druid will probably be immortal if u ignore the healer, and you shouldn't attack the druid at any time. Even if they starrt to heal the healer u shouldn't waste time on interrupting them since the healer is more important to keep under pressure and stun.

The last specc for a druid is the balance (Boomkin!) specc. This is wannabe mage specc, as resto is a wannabe priest and feral is a wannabe warrior/rogue. The balance druid is, as a mage, deadly when left alone. And they, as every druid specc are also hard to kill, but probably the easiest one of the three, depending on exactly how they are specced. Facing a balance druid that is very skilled can be extremely hard, i have even seen teams of two balance druids going up to 2200 rating. As i was saying, a balance druid is much like a mage, exept they are much harder to kill for melees and can heal themselves. They have much armor and for melees and versus a caster they have two quite strong DoTs that they can lay and then run away and heal. This versitality makes them a hard foe. The way of beating them is dots, and slow nuke. Warriors are probably the worst class to be when you are up against a balance druid. Warriors' way of killing is bursting them and reducing healing effects, make their foe incapable of healing. They also slow so that you cannot run from them. But a balande druid has armor, so they wont be bursted. And in moonkin form they cannot heal so Mortal Strike will no be a problem. And they have to stand still to cast so the slow wont do any good. The most suitable to take a balance druid is full a nuke caster. They ignore their armor and strike the balance druids at their weakest point: Their health. A balance druid normally wont have that much HP so a mage or destruction warlock will probably take them down quite fast and easily. If they should try to heal a mage who knows his game can easily counterspell his Regrowths and Healing Touches and spellsteal the HoTs. If you keep the spells flying on them, they wont live for long. Since after all, a balance druid wont do more damage than a mage, so in a front on duel the mage would win fast.
