Known as "Red Bird" or "Red Chinese Phoenix," the giant bird Suzaku is one of the four spiritual creatures of Chinese mythology. In both Japan and China, the red bird shares striking mythological similarities to the legendary Phoenix, and some believe the creatures to be one and the same.
Suzaku corresponds to summer, red, fire and knowledge. The Red Bird is often portrayed with radiant feathers and an enchanting song, and it only appears during times of good fortune.
