Rams are large siege engines used to batter down doors. They are purchased from the Quartermaster located in any friendly Warcamp. In Tier 2 you will need 1 ram per Keep whereas you will need 2 rams in Tier 3 and 4 (assuming your ram isn't destroyed). Rams are set up on a special Siege Pad found right in front of the doors. Up to 4 players can operate a Ram at one time with one player acting as the leader.
A ram is operated with a "swing timer." There is a horizontal bar that proceeds from grey to white up to a certain point and then reverts to black after that and a red arrow that slides back and forth on the bar. The goal is to left-click when your arrow gets as close to the end of the white portion as possble. If you stop it right before it switches to black that is 100% power and your power declines from there. If you miss and stop the swing in the black zone or if the arrow hits the end of the bar without being stopped then you swing for 50% (and your contribution is shown in red).
The Leader is the one who is responsible for beginning the swing. They have to left click to start the arrow moving and then everyone has to click to stop the swing. The leader is always listed first when reading from left to right. Apart from starting the swing the leader is also the one who can repair the ram. Repairing is vitally important since the ram will be a big target for both oil and for opposing players. If it doesn't get repaied and is destroyed then the ram pad is also destroyed and you will have to wait for it to respawn before building another ram.
Damage dealt is determined by the number of players present (one person does 25% damage, 3 people do 75% damage) as well as by the results of the swings. However, the biggest factor is the number of people present. Rams provide cover from attacks on high and player are shielded from 50% of all damage that rains down from above.
