- The Faction Meter is responsible for determining if you are aligned with Light or Shadow or remain Neutral.
Neutral Faction Meter
- For every card you play that has a Light or Shadow Faction, your Faction Meter changes in favor of that card. How much you gain toward either faction is determined by the card's cost to play.
- For example if you play a 2-cost shadow card your meter will show you have moved 2 points toward shadow.
- You can see this indicated by the needle moving toward the black dot indicating 'shadow' on the faction meter.
Shadow Faction Meter
- When a player reaches 10 points toward either Light or Shadow their Avatar gains that trait.
- When your avatar gains either the Light or Shadow trait attempting to play a card of the opposing trait will result in the avatar taking 2 damage.
- There are advantages to gaining a faction as some cards have additional effects that only come into play when you reach a certain faction. Likewise, some cards, like the Giant Field Rat, would rather you remain neutral and have penalties for swaying too far either way.
