As SAM35/WAR17, I farm these in Korroloka Tunnel. I've noticed that 99% of the time, whenever I get the TP for my WS (Tachi: Kagero since they are weak to fire) they use Fluid Toss or one of their abilities. Maybe they are Samurai Slimes! =P
anyone know the drop rate for the slime i want to get in and out.i just need 1 slime oil for the warp scroll.it will be good for me because i always beg for warpII but now i can just warp myself! >.> /em steals all the slime MUHHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHA
I know it's been a month since post but thought I'd say that in Korroloka they drop slime oils about 1/3 times (I have TH but dunno if it works). And I've seen two oils drop from one mob as well, but only once =O
ive been farming these guys today with a lv 30/15 war/thf. i have full kamf gear and i was using meat cheifkabobs. att 160+ doing 20-30 dmg and using red lotus blade for 60 dmg. they would knock me down to between 100 and 200 hp per fight. tough fight but not too dangerous for that lv war with top gear and food.
I'm not sure about other places, but the Jellys in Ordelle's Caves can be killed by a 42WHM. Yes, it's a somewhat hard fight, because they can interrupt...but it's possible. Just killed 2 in a row. --Thiana
I just hit 30 BST yesterday, so my friend (69 BST) tells me that I should definitely go to the Maze to level up. Needless to say, I didn't last 15 minutes because of these things. I know that slimes have VERY high defense, so I was thinking these would make good pets. They make GREAT pets actually, but the problem is charming one of these things! By the time I got him charmed, my HP was in the yellow and a trio of skeletons easily finished me off. I deleveled to 29 >< but I also learned a valuable lesson: stay away from the damn Jellys!
Guys, just leave these alone, unless you: 1. are a much higher level than them and 2. are a black mage, red mage, dark knight, or ninja and 3. are farming. or a. have a death wish.
Very very true, ld even say after lvl 10 stick to easy prey and maybe a decent challenge. And with Jellies, unless you have magic, you need to be way higher to win.
I tried fighting one of these things last night, figuring how tough can it be, it checked as easy, I am a lvl 30 Pld. This thing would have pwned me had it not been for lvl 40 pld near by curing me...several times I would have been toast. I felt kind of embarased about getting whipped like that from a seemingly weak enemy.
People enjoy zoning these, at Maze mostly from my experiences, by accident or otherwise, and the lower levels around such an area need to stand the hell back. I remember fighting one of these that got zoned by a 10-12 MM PT that had been zoned by a Crawler farmer-- I told them to stand back, and they didn't. So when the Jelly used Fluid Toss, I was the only one alive following it. It's not party specific, and it is AoE. Back away from the mob. >_>
I was doing Eco-Warrior quest in san, and the leader went into the wrong room, and there were like 5 of these standing there and they agroed and linked. Almost everyone died It looked really funny, everyone was dead, lieing on the floor in a circle, like 14 people, and me and another person were kneeling in the middle of the dead people :P

To the poster below; to anyone who played the original Final Fantasies, it would be obvious not to use physical attacks against these creatures, because even at the highest level you would only do 0 to 1 damage point. Whereas if you used magic, the damage would be somewhere from 3000-5000 or more.
Actually, against these you do a bit more dmg with melee attacks than against an elemental, but it is still not enough dmg to go hit for hit cause you would need a lot of hp to stay alive that way. Magic is still the best option, or if you don't have that, fight them as a higher level so you can outlast them.

it does make sense how they have massive defense, since they dont really have an actual "solid body form" to hit since they're made of, well, slime. this means u gotta use magic on them to do any real dmg, so i wasnt surprised what happened to the 30war or mnk at the bottom cuz they rely almost entirely on physical dmg
They do seem to link also. There's a room with 2, if you attack one, and the other is nearby, both usually come for you.
Plus they have absolutely massive defense. You'll find that you're doing low dmg all the time. Bear that in mind if they con as "Easy prey" to you. It'll be more like an even match or tough.
killed it today while my lvl 52 RNG LS buddy was killing mobs for the key so I can get my RSE. I was a lvl 31 DRK/ 15 THF, and it aggroed me with about 440 hp out of 550 or so. Survived it by using Drain + Blood Weapon + Slice + Slice + Fire repeatedly. Regular hits were doing 30-40 dmg, and I have very good equipment. Just trying to give some perspective on how tought these things are.
This is not what level you can kill it sucessfully at, rather it is determined by checking the mob and seeing if it is an even match, tough, or decent challenge. This is the Mob's specific level range.
