SOE is running a Free Realms Summer Pass Promotion. For $9.99, you will get membership until September 8, 2011 and the following Bonus Items: Beach Ball ride, Cray Castle, Golden Summer Sparkler, Palm Tree Hat, Sandy Beach Lot and Shark Fin Backpack. You can purchase this promotion until July 15, 2011.
Any members who have already purchased a Lifetime Membership will receive all of the above Bonus Items as a Free Realms Summer Pack, that can be claimed once per account.

For those of you that have been trying and trying to get Scuba Suit pieces at the Ref's Luau Parties... your wait is over! The new items in the Marketplace this week are: Scuba Pack, Scuba Fins, Scuba Mask, Scuba Tank, and Scuba Wetsuit.
The Palm Tree Hat has returned to the Marketplace.

There were some issues with the automatic delivery of the 7 Daily Welcome Back Items. Make sure you received them all, otherwise send in a ticket. See the Free Realms News article for the entire list.
Information has become available about the free year of identity theft protection that SOE is providing through Debix. Anyone that had an account with SOE before the shutdown is eligible for this service. Please read this article for all of the details. If you have more than one account, you only need to sign up once.
Memorial Mania Player Appreciation Event was held May 27th to 30th.

Pre-paid SC cards could be redeemed for Triple SC! However, please make sure you are aware of all SC limits.
There's a special Memorial Day Pack and the Spring Chicken Pack returned for this event.

Glerga's cake was fixed, so you can finish the Perfecting the Batter quest and the rest of the questline.
There's a new Tractor ride. Wouldn't it be cool if it actually helped you out on your farm?
Some people have been seen riding around on a Futuristic Bicycle. These are only available as prizes from FR Community Team members. Zatozia and others will PM you a code for this bike if they feel you have been helpful on the official forums or (randomly) if you show up at Community events.
The Birthday Bash remained until June 10th. Unfortunately, there was no warning about its removal, so many customers are upset that they did not get to finish quests or purchase items (since many were expecting a sale during the last week of the event).
Some of the Summer items have returned to the Marketplace: Dark Flower Island Shirt, Island Shirt, Palm Tree Island Shirt, and Swirly Flower Island Shirt.

All SOE games and forums returned to service today, after an extended shutdown. For more info, please read the articles on the SOE website.
When you first log in, you will be prompted to reset your password. This is a mandatory step being taken by SOE, so you will have to change your password on each different SOE account that you have. You are allowed 10 attempts per 24 hours per IP address, that includes erroneous attempts on the same account or different attempts on different accounts.
There are special Welcome Back packages available for all of the SOE games, with different items available depending on your membership level. For the list of items, please read SOE's article.

Newly created characters will also get the 7 Daily FR Items.
Make sure you log in by June 15, 2011, to take advantage of this.

Because of the shutdown, the Member Bonus Bonanza and the Birthday Bash have been extended. No word on new end dates at this time.
The March 2011 Member's Pack has finally been fixed, and was distributed automatically to every character on a membership account.
During this Welcome Back time frame, new characters are starting with 500 SC, instead of 250 SC.

Another Double SC event, for both store-bought SC cards and online credit card purchases, happened today.
There's also a Member Bonus Bonanza starting. Purchase or upgrade membership and get free SC. For more info, please read the announcement on the official forums.

A Double SC Weekend is starting today. For full details, see our story.
This Super Fan Spring Fever weekend also includes special in-game items to celebrate spring. The FR item is the Spring Chicken Pack. You can read about the items available in other SOE games in our news story.
Today's update brings the return of the Birthday Bash to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Free Realms. Here's the link to our news story.
Unfortunately, 2 of the birthday quests are having problems. In Perfecting the Batter, you can't click on Glerga's Cake to taste it. If you were around last year, and did the quest Mystery Meat Mystery, then it will not be available for you this year. According to the ticket replies I received, the devs are aware of both problems and are working on fixes as quickly as they can.

All of the World Cup Soccer flags and shirts were removed to make room for the above basketball items.
More repellent was successfully applied to some Farming bugs. The Tiller works better now and the Farm-O-Matic seed count section has been improved. However, a new bug has appeared: you can't refill your Watering Can (or Watering Bucket or Ultra Soaker) until it is totally empty now.
The April 2011 Member's Pack has been delivered, and in an exciting new way. The items were automatically delivered when you log in, rather than having to be claimed, and they were given to every character on a member account, rather than just one per account. So look quick, otherwise you'll miss that you received them.

Some bugs were squashed in the Farming activities, including the much-anticipated Starnut Plant spawning issue. The Starnut Plants are plentiful now, so go find them and pick them!
A few preparations are underway for the return of the Birthday Bash. Some of the items have made their way back to the Marketplace: Balloon Pet Pumper, Birthday Party Crate, Blackspore Swamp Birthday Cake, Briarwood Birthday Cake, Merry Vale Birthday Cake, Sanctuary Birthday Cake, Seaside Birthday Cake, Shrouded Glade Birthday Cake, Snowhill Birthday Cake, Streamer Flair Shard, Wugachug Birthday Cake.

Farming has been introduced to Free Realms as a player activity. Everyone gets a free farm lot; there's new quests to do; you can explore to find plant samples. So go get your hands dirty and try it out!
There are a number of items in the Marketplace and Coin Shop that will be used for farming:

There's also a new ride: Bicycle! It's something that many players have asked for and the animations are really neat.
The VIP Ranks should now be fixed. Your Rank should now reflect when your current membership began, regardless of if/when you purchased a Lifetime Membership. If you still feel there's an error, please send in a ticket.
Free Realms has a new Community Manager: Zatozia. We would like to welcome to her to Free Realms. Within her first few days on the job, she hosted a webcast to introduce herself and the new Farming. You can view the video on the SOE blog.

The March 2011 Member's Pack was distributed on the 28th. However, very few actually received them. There were some problems with the way items in the pack were working, and the developers are making corrections. Redistribution will occur after the fix.
In the Marketplace, there's a new ride: Poison Dragon.
There are VIP Titles that you can put in front of your name, a different one for each Rank.
The Cherry Blossom Tree is gone from the Marketplace 2 days earlier than expected.

You can now set up your own stadium a little easier, with the Bleachers now available in the Marketplace.
SOE and Sony are making donations to the Japan Relief Effort, and they would like you to help out this great cause as well. For every Cherry Blossom Tree purchased from March 25 - 28, 2011, SOE will donate $10 to the Red Cross. There are items available in other SOE games. Note: Extended until April 1, 2011.

March 16 - 18, 2011

Festival of Hearts has come to a close. According to Pex, some things will be taken out on the 16th, with anything left being removed on the 18th.
SOE is running a Luck o' the Irish Sweepstakes from March 17 - 20. For details, see our full story.
During the sweepstakes, if you redeem the new $15 SOE Universal Card, you will receive a bonus of 1000 SC.
When making an SC purchase for the first time after the March 18th update, you will be prompted to enter your zip code. This has to do with Sony's tax-reporting procedures.
Updates were made to the Housing Server, to prevent loss of purchases, set up, items, and decoration progress.
The only thing added to the Marketplace is a Lava Tiger pet.

The new card game, Treasure War had its "soft launch" today, according to Pex on the FR forum. There are still some bugs to be worked out, so please report any that you find.
In the Marketplace, you'll find a number of items related to the new card game, including booster packs, gems, and more campaigns.
There's also a new lot in the Marketplace: Vale Stream Lot.
Fixes were made to some of the Gifting Basket reward items.

The VIP Level should now display correctly.

There's been more Festival of Hearts items added to both the Marketplace and Coin Shop.
The February 2011 Member's Pack has been distributed.
SOE has started a VIP Program in FR. There are 5 Levels (or Ranks), and each new level allows you to access certain SC items, VIP titles, and wear certain clothing across jobs.
