WoW TCG Ogre Smash & Bash This Weekend

This weekend is the Upper Deck Two-Headed Ogre Smash & Bash event, being held at hobby stores around the world!
On Saturday, June 28, grab a friend and head to your local hobby store! Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) announced the World of Warcraft® Trading Card Game (TCG) Ogre Smash & Bash. Following in the footsteps of the hugely successful Spectral Safari tournament, the Ogre Smash & Bash, a one-day team event, will be hosted by hobby stores throughout North America, and each winning team will receive two Ogre Suit Loot™ card item codes! Visit WoWTCG.com/Smash&Bash for the latest information on tour dates and locations.

World of Warcraft TCG Loot™ cards, which can only be found through the TCG, give players access to special World of Warcraft massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) in-game items.

“The Spectral Safari was a great event for both hobby stores and players,” said Russell Pippin, Marketing Events Specialist at Upper Deck. “The Ogre Smash & Bash takes organized play events to another level by introducing casual team competition. Because each team jointly plays with two different decks, this event is a perfect opportunity for current players to introduce their friends to the World of Warcraft TCG.”

The tourney page gives all the details, including entry cost and locations where you can take part!

Splash Screen Says: Killer Penguins Invade Norrath

Oki, it doesn't really say that, but Diablofans has completed the hidden picture from the CSS (cascading style sheet) inside Blizzard's spash screen, and it truly is an evil looking penguin!

Today's splash screen brings us no closer to truly knowing what Blizzard is trying to tell us. Not surprising, otherwise they'd have just told us to wait until the announcement this weekend at the WWI.

Is it a protoss, is it Arthas, or do we have a killer penguin about to invade Norrath?! Diablofans has their opinion, and honestly, who can argue with Medievaldragon!?

Tundra: 04
Harbinger: 08
Cavern: 15
Cold: 16
Icy: 23
EvilPenguin: 42
[D, H, O, P, W, ?]

That leaves us with 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42.
Look familiar? They are the LOST numbers.
You can only wonder why Blizzard chose these numbers.

We have 5 days of crazy clues that no one can decipher for sure, so we'll just have to wait, and wonder, and I'm going to go remove that image from my desktop because it's giving me nightmares! Folks are arriving in Paris by the plane load, and our own team of folks are there as well, so as soon as the announcement is made we'll have the info for you!

Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain On Guitar Hero

In a move which is both really cool and rather disturbing; Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain's song "I am Murloc" is now available as downloadable content for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock!  I don't have an Xbox 360, so someone's gonna have to tell us how much fun it is!

Blizzard Authenticator Introduced

From the official WoW site:
To help players avoid unauthorized account access, we're introducing the Blizzard Authenticator, a keychain token that generates codes that must be entered when signing in to the linked World of Warcraft account. For full details, please check out the official announcement or visit the information page.
The Authenticator will be available from the Blizzard store for $6.50 and will be available at, and after, the WWI event, and is completely optional.

WoW Future Beta Signup Page Appears

In a move that could have everything, or nothing, to do with WotLK, WoW has opened a new beta sign up page, with no note regarding what it's for!
We haven't yet announced what title will be tested, but we welcome you to enter your code now and confirm your spot! Along with the Beta Sign-up code, please enter a valid eMail address that will be active for some time. As it may be a while before the invitations are sent for this beta test, we want to make sure you'll receive your invite!

Once you enter your information, you should receive a confirmation eMail. We will eMail you again once invitations are being sent; the eMail you receive at that point will contain further instructions. Be advised that it may be quite some time before this beta test begins, and this sign-up may not be for the next beta test to become available. Thank you, and we'll see you in the test!
We've tried signing up without the beta code, even though it says required (we're gluttons for punishment!) but no luck!  Hopefully everything will become apparent this weekend!

WoW Upper Deck Points Store New In Game Items

Tabard of the Void
For the first time since the launch of the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game, The Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) Points Store will be expanding its World of Warcraft In-Game item offering, with six new tabards! Each tabard will feature a different colored variant of the Black Flame logo featured on the back of World of Warcraft Trading Card Game cards.

Starting after Blizzard’s 2.4.3 patch, the UDE Points Store will roll out these new tabards. Players will be able to match their love of the Trading Card Game with their in-game fashion sense, since the six new tabards will offer something to go with just about any set of Armor!

The Tabard of Nature will be green; the Tabard of the Arcane will be purple; the Tabard of the Void, black; the Tabard of Brilliance, white; the Tabard of Fury, yellow; and the Tabard of the Defender, orange.

Each of the tabards will be made available in the coming months, so stay tuned to WoWTCG.com for more information!
