Vindictus Hosts Open Beta Events

With the Vindictus open beta under way, Nexon has announced new events for players looking to personalize their characters even more! Players now have a chance to complete a quest line that will award an in-game Gnoll Chieftain hood. You may remember the item from E3 where the company was giving away the red hoods at an almost mob-like rate. The in-game hoods never expire, but are only available until October 26, when the open beta ends. Players can change the color of the hood in the dye-shop for even more customization. Once the quest is completed, players will also recieve the title "Swag Owner."

Vindictus players can also celebrate the opening of the new Avatar Shop and the Supply Depot. For a limited time, players can purchase the Rookie Package which includes 10,000 Gold, the title "First Player," 10 Godesses' Grace, and more. Once you purchase the Rookie Package you can also enjoy 50% off the Mercenary Recovery Package. In addition, all players who spend 10,000 NX between October 13-26 will be awarded a free 30-day Hair Coupon!

So log into the open beta before the game officially launches on October 27 to get all your exclusive items and bragging rights. You can watch the full open beta trailer after the jump.

Vindictus to Launch Oct. 27 Following Open Beta

The Vindictus open beta is scheduled to kick off today, Oct. 13, for all North American players. While this is the perfect time to jump into the action MMO, G4TV just announced that the official launch date of the game will be Oct. 27. The site has also posted a new open beta trailer, so be sure to check it out.

Whether you dive into the open beta now or wait for the official launch, this is definitely the month to try out Vindictus. For more details on the free-to-play game, read our in-depth look at Vindictus following the end of the Early Access Beta. Is Vindictus the first true action MMO? What do you think?

Vindictus: One of the First True Action MMORPGs?

When I was assigned to check out Nexon's latest free-to-play MMORPG, Vindictus, I'll admit that I was a little bit hesitant out the door. Granted, those trailers looked pretty good, and Nexon is probably one of the best free-to-play MMO developers in the world, but whenever you start throwing around the words "action MMORPG" with "peer-to-peer instance hosting," I tend to get a little pale. On the other hand, with the advent of several next-gen MMORPGs coming out in this year and the next, who's to say that the F2P market hasn't also taken some significant strides forward? At least this is what I was hoping as I set foot into Vindictus's Early Access Beta.
