I suck at explaining these things without actually doing them, but so far, I have a 100% success rate on them. :D

The key to winning is to be prepared. I found for mages, a stack of echo drops is a must. Also, the whm should have a scroll of instant reraise to use at the last minute if something goes wrong.

Holla is supposedly the most difficult, but basically, it's just got a boss who likes to steal your buffs and put you to sleep. Make sure when you go on holla that everyone has a few poison potions to pop for that portion.

You can do these with just one party or an alliance. If you do an alliance, make sure every party is full because when you do get to the spire, the alliance will have to break and the parties will have to fight the boss seperately.

A ranger is a great asset in these, though not needed. They just make them go so much smoother, so try to get one if you can. Their widescan just really helps with finding the receptacles on each level. Also, the receptacles have an aoe attack that pushes you far back and makes melee futile on them. Black mages, summoners, rangers and anyone with a melee attack will be who goes after them, while the melees take out the strays surrounding it.

A summoner is another great asset to these since our two hour really does lay into the boss.

So far, every party I have done on one of these has had at least 3 people experienced with the runs. So when you get in yours, just listen to the one who has experience when you get inside and work as a team with your party. If everyone is prepared and on the same page and stays together, these things are cake.

This guide may be of use: Promyvion - The Emptiness - Get your game on

I agree completely with Tiffie. The Promyvions are a bit of a challenge, but being well prepared and working together as a team makes the whole thing very easy.

The most important thing is to have Anima. Go into Promyvion by yourself, or with a partner. The bottom floor is full of Easy Prey mobs that will drop Recollections which you can turn into Anima, which you should be able to solo or duo with few problems. If each person in your party has just one or two anima, it can turn the boss fight into a complete joke. Each Anima enfeebles the boss, preventing it from using certain attacks, or causing it to run around for a good 20 seconds. 6 People x 3 Anima means you've got a good 5 or 6 minutes where the boss cannot attack properly. In most of the runs that I've done, we've only had to use about 3 or 4 anima at most before the boss is defeated. With a well-prepared party, you won't need any anima at all, but it really helps, and does make the battle a lot safer.

One thing I must strongly recommend, however, is that you not go in with an alliance. You can't take an alliance into the final boss battle anyway, and usually an alliance ends up causing more problems than its worth. 18 people rarely agree on anything, don't usually work together very well, and no matter how much you try to get people to pay attention, someone always catches aggro at the worst possible time. Then everyone feels overconfident (We have an alliance! We are invincible!), fights poorly, and people die.

A single party should have no problems defeating any of the enemies in each Promyvion area. And a single party is much more likely to make it to the spire without incident, and is more likely to stay oragnized and avoid unnecessary aggro.

I have to agree with Seryn. It's much easier avoiding needless aggros and working as a team with a simple party of 6. Not only do you have the "too many chiefs not enough Indians" problem with alliances, but the lag is almost unbearable with 12-18 people scampering all about.

And as for Promyvion-Holla, if you have at least two hysteroanima, you will be a happy person when everything is said and done. The more the better, but you need at least two. The fastest way to get the recollections of pain needed to make the hysteros is to farm them on the first floor of Promyvion-Dem, then, *without* erasing your memory, head back to Jeuno, make the anima, then go back to Dem to erase your memory. From there you can go to Holla and lay the wreaker to waste with your anima.
