Ok, last night was a first for me. I recently decided I've gotten a little bored with playing melee classes so I'm dabbling with mage classes. My brother quit the game a few months back so I inherited a bunch of cool mage gear (he was Taru mage). I knew playing a Galka mage wouldn't be easy, but I didn't ever think that I'd be discriminated on so badly.

I got my WHM to 25 and BLM to 20. Dunes and Qufim parties were quite kind to this Galka mage. But last night in Kazham, it was harsh. I put my seeking flag up and stayed in the jungle to help cure other parties. Waited about half an hour, no party invites. Just several /tells telling me to go back to melee and that Galka mages shouldn't be done.

Ouch. I'm very well equipped by the way. I have all the MP+ gear and my RSE ready. Food and drinks always available.

No invites tho. So I just went and leveled my Bard solo to 10. I hope the server is kinder to Galka Bards. ^^;

who said galka should stick to melee's >.< , it just like everyone telling me taru should stick to be mages ( I'm a Taru Nin and THF, and I tank and melee fine).. so whoever said Taru sould stick to mages and Galka should stick to melee are stupid n00b who dont anything about this game.. its about player and skills,, not damn race.. oh yeah and i got couple friends thats high lvl whm, blm.. so dont give up^^

It's a harder road you've chosen, but consider how much you look with awe and RESPECT at a Galka WHM in full AF, or a Taru PLD in full AF ... ! I know I do. So hang in there.

Galka Mages are great. Especially since most who stick with it into any decently high level have had to learn how to play extremely well to make the best use of their limited MP pool. I don't think I've ever partied with a Galka mage that hasn't done an excellent job.

One thing that my Galka friends who are leveling mages have done, which seems to have worked well for them, is to put their stats in their search comment. If you include your total MP and mention that you have food (and what kind), as well as juice, it will go a long way towards making party leaders understand that you're taking the job seriously.

Of course, if you're still not getting invites, don't worry about it. Just make your own parties instead, and show the rest of the skeptics how good a Galka mage can be.

It seems to me that those who would mock a Galka caster simply on the basis of being a Galka (and why would one do that anyway?? =D ) are the ones who need to reconsider how they think this game works.

Simply put, there is absolutely no race/job combo that cannot or should not be done. There is equipment to serve nearly any purpose in this game; with the right stuff (and this takes effort, but its worth it) you can make up for racial inadequacies. And then its not just your equipment, but the player's skill is important too.

Anyway, forget the people who are too closed-minded to accept that a Galka can be a fine caster. {Galka} {power}!

If I had a job in your level range, I'd join up with you. I've played with many galka mages and have yet to run into one who couldn't do the job. MP isn't an issue if you come prepared with juices and stuff like you have been.

The only problem with a Galka brd btw is you are going to have to eventually level up that whm and possibly put up with the ones who think they know it all again when that time comes. But if you hit me up in game (I'm Tif), I'll try to get a job to your whms level and level with you.

Just so you know, we have a 72 galka bard in my ls. He's awesome. I levelled with him awhile back in our 50's and he was always there with a backup cure when needed and did his main job in such a way the party just flew. One of the best bards I played with.

I understand Galka No more mp! galka pld lvl 22 and if i get to the jungle before youre out id be glad to pt with you. Honored for that matter. Any whm that is good is held high in my book.
Galka more so. The is a Galka Whm in my ls he also is in Tdot i believe name is Irongrimm just inspiring. ^_^

Hey just remember a galkan brd in a bronze subligar playing his flute...omg it is funny...and I have a thf 19 and a war 32 that need to be leveled..When u get there let me know..I'd love to party.
