My wife and I are planning to start playing FFXI tonight.
I remember my good old friend was telling me years ago that he had a character on this server, but we lost contact shortly after that. So mentioned that, I can imagine you understand that I can not ask him to give me 2 world passes for my wife and myself.
Could someone buy 2 world passes for us and PM them to me here? I will give 2000 back as soon as we make this much.

well I was playing FFXI about 2 years ago, but I lost all of my account info. Plus it is cheaper to buy new box with all expansions then buy 2 expansions for my old account. I was playing WoW after, so that is why I have so many posts here - I was posting on WoW boards. But now I am off that needle, so I am happy to come back to FFXI!

Oh! I was meaning to ask you guys if exp gain was increased at all over the past 2 years. II hear that kill chains are easier to establish, but I did not hear anything about increasing amount of EXP gained.

The Aht Urghan expansion's areas are chock full of VT mobs (@75) that can be chained at a rediculous pace. The Sanction effect (similar to Signet) can add a bonus to xp when the Astral Candescence is in Aht Urghan (meaning, we didn't lose it to the Beastmen).
There are also XP bonus rings that can be purchased with Conquest Points. Since you'll be starting fresh I suggest this is where you spend your first 1000 CP.

In Aht Urhgan area's you get xp/limit bonus with sanction. As for the kill chains, I believe you are referring to the now popular TP burn parties. Great xp/limits, but becomes very boring very quickly. It's too repetative, same thing over and over for the entire duration of the party. No skillchains or Magic Bursts, no thinking required.
Not meaning to knock burn parties, some people absolutely prefer them for the faster xp/limits. I play this game for the fun and challenge and I don't find any of that in burn parties.
Also, something you're gonna like are the changes to Signet. Anyone who has a massive amount of HP, like warriors and monks, and solo's a lot appreciates this. You heal faster ... a LOT faster, with signet. Sanction does not offer this, but in exchange for a few imperial standing points, you can get auto-refresh, auto-regen, or extended food effects (doubles the duration of food).
You and the Mrs. are gonna like all the new stuff. :)

Guys thank you very much for these helpfull responses! I get more and more excited about coming back to FFXI! So far I see great community, great changes to gameplay, tons of new features and much more! Once again - I am extremely happy to be here!
