Started FFXI in September 2005, so, not an inexperienced player. All three main characters are at level 75. I believe the key to being a good melee is to also be a good mage and vice versa. You don't have to be the most uber on the server, but you should at least know the jobs and what is involved in them ... especially in meripo. I don't, at this time, do any endgame. When I feel I am ready for that, I will seek out a good, and fun, endgame LS.
