Hakutaku NM is probably one of the most annoying NM's but you have to admit he does what he prolly was intended to do, and he does it well.

He's the NM that weeds out those who are greedy, selfish and untrustworthy. Those who want their run first and suck for the rest of the duration. those that want to go first with the intention of d/c'ing/leaving.

Everyone's been to one, everyone can agree the NM and the runs are tiring. We all understand that if we participate in a O hat run, it lasts for 4-6 hrs. I cannot sympathize for the few that do get their hats and simply leave. The clusters are worth alot of gil and the time invested in the run is worth just as much. For those that help on O hat runs, they understand the frustration of people leaving, people have probably left on their turns.

Avoid Emikai 75 drg at all costs, according to this 22 yr old man.. his mum doesnt let him play too long.

My rant, sorry I hate flakes. Enjoy, you traded your rep for a Hat.

You're trash as a player and hopefully no one else lets you leech. I will not apologize for flaming you, afterall I cant really flame ur mum.

Ohat run takes time , hate it when ppl gives you the "oh guys i need to go!" and while it can happens sometimes, i useally ask to trade last and/or if ppl are cool with me leaving soon.

unless you have time to do the whole run ( or most of it ) dont waste everyone's time and/or trade last. when i gat mine before 2 years or so , we were 22 there ( half of them helping ) done 6 runs , wiped 3 ( good old times when Ohat run = nightmare ) done 2 runs , asked if ppl are cool with me leaving after my run ( was 6 am my time , had to drive @ 7:30.... oooh boy! ) and everyone was cool with that , then i gat mine.

just take it easy , we have done that run with as short as 10 ppl , just need ppl to know what they are doing.

Hey guys, this is Emikai, I just barely switched servers.
To start off... I apologized to everyone and said that whenever they needed to get a party together if they missed their hat to /tell me.
I'm 17 years old, and my mom can get a little nutsy about the damn bedtime near the end of summer.
At least I was honest, at least I didn't force d/c to save my rep.
The fact that my hat was the last one that we got was a coincidence and I would've had to go anyway if it was anyone elses.
So think of others personal lives before you go crying on Alla that you lost a DRG/DRK during a hakutaku run.

Cool defend your rep its worth that hat you got. End of story.

Not saying what you did was wrong or right, I'm saying you wasted everyone else's time. I'm sure as hell I would not have felt any sense of obligation to help you get your a hat if you had told from the moment you joined the alliance that you had no intentions of helping me get mines. I'm also sure everyone who went will tell you they wouldn't have bothered to help you get yours without conditions of them getting theirs. Everyone who went, went under the understanding that those were the conditions. For those who came to help, came because they were asked.

The only person to leave this run was you.. Also the only person who didnt bring help.. You put your rep on the line when you said you're not a puss, atm your a puss and your rep is trash.

However you can make it up to us easily.

If you would like to make it up to us and redeem your rep as a player. Find 10+ people to do another run. Sounds easy right? What are you waiting for? We're waiting... Nothing yet except excuses so far.

Can you find 10+ people to do that? Especially for strangers..

If you do manage to find help for us, you must understand that you and only you are obligated to help the new comers who need hats, those who you abandoned can abandon you just as abruptly with similar circumstances. Unfair? How so? You defended yourself that it was fair, excusable and ok to do.

Emikai..
Thats the situation most of us are in now. We have to join new groups and help more strangers under the same conditions of which you willingly agreed to and abandoned. Not true? How so, this is how you got your hat no?..

Thats exactly how it is. It might sound F'd up that you have to help 7 ppl get O hats, but thats what you agreed on. Why apologize if it doesn't do anything except excuse yourself. And btw you arent excused. You want to prove your not another rustymetal armyofone? Prove it, I'm going to ask you to help 3 of the 7 get their hats. You better be there next tuesday 5pm PST.

You can apologize sure, stuff like that can happen and things do happen.
People leave on these things its true, but people remember those who leave. Forwhatever reason you knew you couldnt do it, you did. For whatever reasons that made you leave you knew they were there before you came.

No question about it. You owe 7 people hats. Dont apologize it means nothing. Get them their hats.

emo much ?

RL > ffxi

I always do my best to stay til the end at every event I do with my Ls.. when I actualy have to leave suddenly for whatever reason , I just tell them something came up and I have to go.... no bad reputation... people in my LS are intelligent beings and understand that ffxi isnt all.

QFT

with your LS you dont risk the bad luck to get an emo boy shouting your name on allakhazam cause your mom decided your playtime was over.

that I agree with. yes sometimes you gotta leave promptly and that sucks... **** happens, but even if I believe its excusable, it doesnt mean you are duty free. You really own them your help, and I hope you will attend.

calling out people names on public forum because of a 1 time behavior is wrong imo ... (which is the way I read it) Im always giving the benefits of the doubt in those situations, but if you really just ditched them and dont plan to help them at all, then you sucks, hard.

in the other hand, if I were the guy who had to leave, and I saw a hate thread stating my name on a public forum, Im not sure if I would like to help the person who wrote it.... but I may help too, idk ... as I said, I always do those kind of event with people who wont try to ****** up my rep the first time I have to log out earlier than expected.

And one wonders why the casual player gets so frustrated in this game sometimes. It sad where one can so easily come on here and defame you for having to deal with real life.

Mareg, did Emikai help anyone get their O-Hat or was his the first one and then he left?

In your defense Mareg, Emikai should have notified you at the start of his time limitation.

In defense of Emikai, if he helped others get their O-Hat before his own, then you Mareg, I am sorry to say, are being a bit of an ***. At least you had his help for some of the runs. It seems you are pissed because you did not get your OHat. For those others who didn't get their hats, I don't see them coming on here berating Emikai. I have been in your situation and you deal with it. People in this game have real life to worry about and real life is far greater than any game.

One last note. It sounds like the loss of one player caused the total demise of your party. Were you not able to continue on?

Surely it's just a given thing that over the course of a standard pick up o-hat run some people will have to leave, sometimes after they get their hat, all down to /random luck as to whether they have to leave before or after their turn.

Ive been on runs before where someone has said they cant stay for all hats, but then insists that they go first to make sure they get theirs, this i disagree with. But if you did it by /random then those are the breaks.

It is pretty crappy when it means the end of the run for everyone else, but if the guy had to go he had to go. That said any good natured person who had to do this would certainly be willing to help those people get their hats on a future run.

No need to slate the guy on a forum really.

I've done the ohat alot. I've gone with people that made a party, got a few friends to help, demanded they go first since they made the party, then leave with all there friends after the first run.

I've gone with people that just afk without saying anything after they get their hat. When I got my hat there was 12 people that wanted it, and 16 people doing it. I got mine on the 3rd time, and we finished 7. On the 8th we wiped because by that time there was only 13 people left, and at least 3 that were afk. We didn't have enough people to stun.

I've also had a ls totally ***** me over on it, so can't say do it with a ls.

Wow, I know we don't have all the info but like was stated above did he get the first hat and log? Did people wander around on the way to the ???, die over and over get aggro? How early in the /shout did he join the party? All kind of stuff needs to be taken into consideration before you can say he is another sorry player who just leeches off others. It just makes you look really emo and imature. But hey if he saw 17/18 DD/stun can i have it and joined, went first, and was like ***** you guys i gotta log. Then you are 100% right in asking ppl not to help him and putting out this warning. Just sucks for someone who is new to bismark to get slammed for something that might not of even really been his fault.

I had to add in the edit that i would not blame him if he went ahead and blisted you and never offered to help after your post telling him you demanded him to help after he already said he would help.

Hakutaku is indeed a time sink, but it's a needed evil for most of the endgame content.

Not only is it a test of Character, but it lets LS leaders (assuming this is not indeed a pick up run) see who works best in what situation, and with who. Even in FFXI, there's chemistry between players. some work better in parties with certaint people, from my experience, anyway.

Hell, I jumped ship before I had my Hat, but had a cluster made forever, i was a bard. and always let others go before me =]
