Firstly, I am leveling NIN now which is 42. If anyone wants to party to get non-stop fast exp please let me know asap.
Why am I posting? Because CN is driving me mad just like it did when I levelled my other jobs through here.
Today a WHM didnt have Haste, Reraise or Erase! When I wanted a new WHM, someone got angry and disbanded. Oh please. You think WHM is about pressing "Cure II" over and over? You have a lot to learn!!
When I didnt have Erase, Finale, Utsusemi or even Teleport sodding Yhoat, I didn't put my flag up. I went and farmed Finale in Castle O, I went and did BCNM 40, or I went and bashed those friggin lizards over and over until I got the friggin marble. And yes I had to wait til a friend was free to do so more often than not.
So please, if anyone out there who isnt equipping an empress band as their main gear then please let me know!!
P.S. When I told the WHM that Haste was cheap and offered to do the BCNM with her, she said she was too busy. Kthx.

When erase was expensive, I didn't level WHM past that 'til I had it. Now, it's what... 10-15k? There is absolutely no excuse to not have it when you hit 32 now. That's what... 2-3 stacks of beehive chips? Or maybe 10 stacks of crystals (which you'd get in exp anyways)?
Haste is 20k tops at the NPC and a little more expensive on the AH.
Reraise is 2-5k on the auction house...
That being said, I don't think you need to worry about sounding elitist (which you seemed to try to convey that you're not in your post, and I don't think you are.)
That's just as bad as a Paladin going with just any old gear, or level 20 gear at level 42 just because they don't have the money for it. (It's a paladin's job to tank, and if you don't have decent gear for it, don't play paladin! It's what the job is all about! And by decent I don't mean the most expensive best rarest impossible to gauge gear ever. Just gear well enough to do your job...)

Thank you, I didn't want to sound elitist and was scared that I would. I most definately am not one. You have actually made me feel a ton better about this now because I was really irritated when the RDM protested and disbanded.

I had a WHM in my party once around that level without haste or Erase, when i grumbled about it i was told "Well im only levelling it for teleports".....fair enough then >.>
You should try gettin a party to go to Altepa desert instead of CN, that place just oozes sadness, especially after the 8th level that you spent in there.

I have seen erase on AH for as little as 6k, so there really is no excuse for not having it. But what's even worse is having it and not using it. I've been in parties where the whm did not use it and some that used it only on the tank (when a simple DS+erase would take care of everyone). Same with viruna, paralyna, and poisona etc. My whm is only level 28, but I have all my spells thru level 37 in my MH. (Not taking whm any higher, just need for sub with rdm.)
I learned a valuable lesson about how people react (even over-react sometimes) when you are under-geared (that would include spells for mages). I took time off to farm, do profitable quests, whatever, and now my warrior is quite well equipped. Still working on it though.^^

Nah not elitist, there nothing wrong with assuming that no matter what equipment someone may have, that they will at least have the respect for the other 5 party members to make a decent effort at doing their job properly.

I've noticed alot of things like this myself lately. I've been lvling brd and I'm in shock at the way some ppl play. Tonight I had a 38war/12nin that didn't have utusemi <sp>. I've had whms ask my why reraise is so important. I've seen whms tell the tank that erase is a waste of mp because the crawler was spamming sticky thread. I'm not even going to get started on the gimp subs.
I've gotten my brd to 40 if you want to look me up this weekend to start a pt. I'm not l33t but I do have my act together and all my spells XD

I know DV is level 50^^. My main jobs, atm, are levels 55, 70, and 74. I haven't leveled my monk in quite a while. Needs his AF. XD
Last night I was in a party in the Mire, as galka, and the whm silena'd only the Ninja. We also had war x2 (one being me^^), and a thf, all /nin. Imps spam silence(ga), lol. Echo drops run out quick in the Mire. Got to the point the other war, the thf, and I had to just let the silence wear off. Ninja was good at holding most of the hate anyway and, um... it is the Mire. We were in a high aggro camp (right in the middle of Imp-pop city) but the only death we suffered was the little rdm. She caught aggro from an imp while we were fighting 2 flies. We all caught imp aggro at one point or another, but a hume rdm isn't going to handle the hits quite so well as a galka war. :p
Overall, the whm was a good healer, just a little stengy with the silena.

It costs like 24 MP per cast IIRC, which in your party setup is a good way to run out of MP using it on anyone but the main tank. It's fortunate the NIN was good enough to hold hate, though.

lol, she was /whm, I think. If she used any of -na spells, it was also on the tank only. I know me and the other /nin's never got any. Was ok tho, we had fun, got good xp, and only the rdm had a death.
