Objective

In response to our reclaiming of regions surrounding the capital, Darkheir Grradhod has organized his surviving hordes to launch a mass counter-offensive from La Vaule. You are to neutralize this threat by eliminating the Orc leader.

Unit Requirement: 1~6 Members

Walkthrough

This Campaign Operation is found under "Offensive operations" when you talk to Rasdinice.
To start this quest, your current campaign rank must be Iron Emblem of Service or higher.

Go to La Vaule (S) and kill Orcs until your party obtains the key item Tigris Stone, which is required to enter the battlefield for this mission. Once your party has the key item, head to the gateway at (F-9) to enter a BCNM style fight.

The battle is against four NM Orcs, Darkheir Grradhod, Malicearm Razbhobb, Slitherword Razghogg, and Gorepledge Rozzbrezz. You only have to defeat Darkheir Grradhod in order to win. Once you defeat Darkheir Grradhod, any remaining Orcs will despawn and an armoury crate will appear.

Return to Rasdinice to complete the mission.

Strategies

To win you only need to defeat Darkheir Grradhod. He is a SAM with the other 3 orcs as helpers. They are much weaker than he is (they only have around 1500 HP), and can be either slept (they gain resistance), or killed. The helpers will instantly respawn when defeated though. They also share hate with the main NM.

Darkheir Grradhod has about 30,000 HP and is highly resistant to debuffs and Sleep. He also has the SAM two hour available to him.

Darkheir Grradhod's two moves on note are Shoulder Charge and Tornado Edge.

Shoulder Charge: Frontal Cone high physical damage. Adds defense down. This move can one shot a PLD if not prepared. Can take 1~3 shadows.

Tornado Edge: Frontal Cone 3 hit attack. Inflicts Max HP Down, Max MP Down, and Max TP Down. All can be erased, and not all will land if you evade a hit or two.

Darkheir also has all other orc NM moves as well as normal orc TP moves such as Berserker Dance (haste on him, slow II can null this), Orcish Counterstance (cannot be dispelled), and other moves.

We just attempted this last night (three times) based on the info that was going around that the adds repoped at the "center" of the bcnm and DONT'T re aggro. Well I guess SE decided to "fix" this. So I regret to inform people who have been attempting this to be ready for more adds if you're trying the "pull to entrance and kill adds then boss" approach. It no longer works. The first run went kinda ****** due to our PLD taking a wrong turn coming back to the entrance..nuff said. Our 2nd attempt with same set up (PLD,SAM,WHM,BRD,BLM,THF) seemed to be working fine till we seen the orcs comin 'round the bend again. We were "well...that sucks."
Our third attempt was a bit different. We switched it up to PLD,WHM,RNG,BLM/ninx3 and had the blm's just do their aga III thing on the boss to take out the adds also. RNG did his rng thing on the boss...Barrage,sidewinder,EES etc. We managed to get him down to about 28%-ish before blm's started droppin. Talking to a friend she said that a friend of hers went in with RDM,BLM/ninx2,RNGx3 and said it was a piece of cake. So unless you're planning on a manaburn setup I think the key is having range attacks while the blm's keep up with the aga III's. If anyone else has some workable setups please feel free to post em.
Apparently kiting of any sorts doesnt work due to the adds sharing hate with the boss. Hope this helps clarify stuff for people who are attempting this for the first time. Goodluck!
