The best combo for fish some pipira is Windurst Woods (dhamael farm bridge) with Halcyon rod + Minnow lure. :)

I also found this to be the best place to fish Pipira. I used a Tarutaru fishing rod instead of a Halcyon rod (I've never even heard of or seen this rod). Currently I'm a skill level 30 fisherman (novice). I needed 7 Pipiras for guild points and catched them within 20 minutes of fishing, als caught 1 copper ring, no line breaks or mis catches.

Pipira are one of those particularly picky fishies. Lots of other small type fish bite Mithran/Composite/Halcyon rods even tho they are labelled for small fish.

I'm a fan of Comp/Mithran rod combos and I constantly kept getting the "You didn't catch anything" message. But the moment I switched to Carbon rod with same bait (Minnow Lure), I immediately started kicking @$$.

My preferred combo for these is Carbon rod + Minnow Lure.

This is pretty good for raising fishing skill around 20-25. I'm using fastwater rod and meat balls.

Heh, well I was fishing for some moat carp to cut up for cooking skill when, for the heck of it I slap on a Frog lure to my comp. rod :P was really suprised when I ended up with a pipira on the end of the line... caught about 5-6 hopin for some skill up. actually got a 0.1 skill up and leveled to 23 fishing <w00t> so maybe this'll help someone catch em'... idk use it how you will. Just an alternative to all the other places and ways to catch fish.

I haven't had any luck catching these anywhere in windy. Low bite rate and very very low catch rate. Tried minnow and frog lure.
Fishing skill is 18.

FYI you don't "need" the minnow lure to catch it... meatballs work too.
Pipira Question
# Jul 11 2004 at 6:16 AM Rating: Decent
Alright, as far as I know there are only 5 areas to catch Pipira

Windhurst Walls
Windhurst Waters
Windhurst Woods
East Sarutabaruta (lake)
Yuhtunga Jungle (pond)

Are any of these places better than the rest?

I have been jumping around to the Windy and Saru locations and am getting a 3-7% catch rate with Frog Lure and Minnow. Sliced Carp does a little better in Saru, about a 7-8% catch rate, 0% catch rate inside Windy because of Crayfish.

I can't get any catches with Meatballs and haven't tried Lizard Lure or Rouge Rig.

Am I missing something about catching them or are they just a pain to catch?

I seem to be catching a lot with carbon/meatball in the ponds of Hidden Vally in Yuhtunga Jungle

I'm using the comp. rod only right now and pulled a few at windy, but it's a small fish so try a smaller rod, like the carbon or glass fiber. You need the minnow lure to catch it, and they look to sell pretty good. I wish I could get a stack a little faster!
