I think these only spawn at night. I was killing fog and mist golems in the throne room and almost ready to give up then this guy finally spawned 10pm gametime. Unfortunately none of the respops dropped Lhrancs pendant.

A black behemoth of a warrior the Black Reavers are the elite guard of the lords of the City of Mist. They have been said to drop Jade Reavers. Mind that once you kill one, another directly pops from the corpse. After the fifth or sixth of them Lord Rak'Ashiir spawns.
They hit in the mid hundreds and are known to be immune to magic-based attacks and all slows.

Tried this last night, ended up with 2 Rak’Ashirs
Frustrated, I went digging. As of March 15th, 2017, it is no longer possible to chain spawn reavers.

At least as of today, a Rak`Ashiir-only method does not work. Left my mage parked in his room overnight, and woke up to 6 Rak`Ashiir quietly judging me from 6 inches away. Tried again with Neh`Ashiir up in his tower, and got another Rak`Ashiir. They may have fixed this.

Hop on mount , press up against the door scroll forward so you can see inside then dismount and you are in.

Alright, so i tried the chain spawning trick as listed just under my post.....so far i am in the process of what seems like an infinite amount of reavers chain spawning. I have killed over 1200, lost count around that number. Been here about an hour and 45 mins. These reavers have yet to drop a single pendant needed for the Sk 2.0.
Just posting to say the chain spawning does work, pendant is rare as christ. Has yet to drop, gotten roughly 950 jade reavers to drop so far.

if you are in the tower you are in the wrong place it's behind the 1st locked door that the mob pops that drops the pendant of Lhranc. It drops from Lord Ghiosk not Lord Rak'Ashiir.

They must have upped the drop rate. I've killed 10 reavers now and have seen 2 of the pendants drop.

I've killed over 300 of these for the Lhranc's Pendant for the Shadow Knight 2.0 quest.. I have every part of the quest complete besides this piece and the last raid mob. What has to be done to get these to drop? Something is not working here.

I killed the black reaver in the main room and it didn't chain spawn. Then pet pulled the last 3 reavers and the same. Either got nameds or phantoms. Two days in a row and the same thing. I'm level 85. Is that the reason I don't get chain spawns?

Got a jade reaver for my epic as a 62 dru with a merc tank. Here is how:
Get key from the guard captain - a skele iksar on balcony to right as you enter. Zerg your way to the locked door (map on eqatlas is useful)
Pull throne room - easy with a merc tank. There is a black reaver here and more revers will chain pop after you kill them until you get Lord Giosh.
move to one of the recesses by the doors and bind/camp here. Return after two hours when room has re-poped. Camping by the door avoids pulling the whole room but you will get an add or two through the door.
If you get no jade reaver, come back two hours later, rinse and repeate until you do.
If you zerg the room each time you get a fair bit of loot too.

if you have lev and a pet, you can /tar a from top of reaver building and pull them by sending pet in and calling it back.

The Black Reaver dropped a Form of the Howler today.
I went after one of these for my druid. 67 cleric and a 68 pally, both decent+ gear. No problems, we killed just about anything we could find. The dark reaver itself was easy, blind can be a pain, but most priest casters can cure it once they are 15+ or so. After the original kill, 2 more poped on death, after that the Lord came out. He was cake for the 68, took about 20% health down total, no heals. We got a reaver on the second spawn. The rest were empty. At 67 i couldn't land a single spell, but weapon spells seemed to hit fine. The pally wasn't watching his procs, so i dont know about his, but my 61 hammer was casting fine.
EDIT: bring a rogue with pick lock if you dont want to wait the 2 hours for a respawn.

If you have a Mount, you can pop right through the locked doors. this is how:
bump up to the door, summon mount, then un-summon mount Viola you are in.

Old post I know, but just thought I'd stick this in there. Elevator doesn't work with Mounts or Illusions, need a key from Neh or a Rogue. the elevator is in the hallway behind the throne room.

I went to CoM to get a Jade Reaver for the Ranger Epic. Cleared the bridge and entrance of all of the trash mobs and pulled the first black reaver out. Killed him fairly well, with 40% HP left, expecting another black reaver to pop after he died, well it turned out that the Fabled Lord Ghiosk was next...
Didn't last long... and the black reaver corpse didn't have a Jade Reaver on it... EDIT: He did drop a Sunshard Pebble. And the Fabled Lord Ghiosk was left up, so I couldn't get another Black Reaver at that time. Oh well.
Got to go back and do it again, and this time I hope to get a normal pop chain.

Thanks to Takil's advise we finally got Lord Rak to spawn again w/in 2 hrs YaY!!
after sitting for an hour trying to figure spawn time of Lord Rak, i decided to check on the black reavers. sure enough we followed Takils' advise.
Go kill all the black reavers at the ent to palace, then up near Neh and then head to Lord Rak's spot and kill them. Lord Rak spawns immediately! then repeat......
hope this helps the next on their epic =)

Killed about 130 or so of these guys about 5 months ago... lost count around 80 and killed for another 20 mins after which group wanted to leave and i stayed and soloed 3 or 4 more after which i gated (in the middle of a fight with one)... 6 or 7 jade reavers dropped...

Can a 66 druid Solo the Black Reavers? 1 at a time

Killed one of these guys lastnite with my 59 bst,solo, found him behind stone door.
pulled him past golems, they didnt agro, np, wrong, this dude hit me for between 300 and 600 dmg, being a BL with a measly 4600hp buffed, ( im poor cant get the uber gear), got him down, not knowing something else would spawn, so up pops Lord Ghiost, a couple wacks, and pet was dead, I had less than 20% life left, and only one in zone, so I ran, lol.
Anyway, hit alot harder than mid 100's dmg.

just finished killing them... all of them died easily, no respawn. then got to the last one from the far island and had 143 spawn one after another... :(

We were camping the Chanter epic guy for a guildie when they pulled one..being the only real power house I sent in pet(with Convic and pet haste) and doted..droped pretty fast. Only got 1 resist on Tap. other then that DoTs stuck(fire and Dis)

We brought a group of mid-50s to CoM to try to get a Jade Reaver for a Ranger, and the Shaman reported receiving an "Immune to Slow" message when using a Disease-based Slow spell. Also, we could not Snare nor Root them.
The Blindness is easily taken care of by making the Cleric or Shaman who has the Cure Blindness spell hotkey it, as well as having any group member hotkey an "I am Blind" message.

They aren't immune, just resistant. I was helping a druid friend get a reaver and I was hitting for full with my lvl 69 fire nuke and lvl 70 ice nuke.
I got resists with magic based dots though.

First...the black reaver does blind you. dont know the length of time (seemed like forever)
Second once you have the stone ring, all you need to do is click on the door it opes, and it is added to your ring. the key, however, is still in inventory. can give it to others in your group, or you can open door for them.
