First Attack

The first attack is Clockwise from the first leader you kill. I.e. if you want grimlings to attack, kill the wolf. Owlbears: the grimling chieftan
The remaining group will attack next to get to where you can ambush them
early.

I've been having a lot of fun with this war - at first I thought the only point was to kill the end mob that spawned after it's race took over the zone. Then I realized that since each camp has a leader, that leader would change depending on who controlled that camp and offer different loot than the previous enhabitant. I'm not sure if the zone goes back to normal automatically, but i had time to take out the leader (or PH) of all three camps twice before taking out the main mob that takes over the merchant camp. A lot of good items here, even for higher levels. Be aware that since Hollowshade is off of Shar Vahl, there can be low level chars killing the rockhoppers and beetles, so give fair warning when the merchant camp is about to turn against them :)

1) He spawns against the wall.

2) He does not run. Don't worry about snare/root.

3) EVERYONE ELSE in the cave DOES run.

3) Light blue to a 44 BL

4) Be careful of the Manacrafters. They are painful! Occasionally dispelling buffs and once even dismissed my pet! Way undercon.
WAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok heres the scoop! There are 3 bases. N Cave (bigger Cave), Cave (smaller cave) and village and a Shar Vahl cave useless.

To first initiate a war, KILL a boss mob in one of the camps.

Then baddies from one of the groups Sonic Wolfs, Grimlings, Owlbears will send out attackers in a row of 5. You will see a zone anouncement.

There will be Defenders in front of the defending baddies home. 5 of em. Kill the Defenders you want to lose. The Defenders will summon you so you cant run. Be carefull!

When the 5 attackers enter the defending camps base (bacause you killed the 5 defenders) they will take over.

You will have to run from base to base to get the group you wish to help win, to win. Once the Grimlings have taken over all 3 bases head to N Cave.

The grimlings are by far the best group to me, to help win. And N cave is where you want them.
In the N cave(The bigger cave) at the end of the cave there is two spawning areas kinda in the shape of circles. One in the very back and one to the left near the very back.

One has Gleeknot Gnitrat who drops theBelt of the Grimling Skullcracker. His place holder in one of the Grimling baddies off to the left circle spawning area. Probably a mystic. I Had to kill the goons alot, very fast spawn rate.

Then in N cave straight to the back circle spawning there is Skrietat'Cha and ive never got the belt off of him but I did get the cap. Killed him lots.

Once all 3 camps are taken over by one group of baddies, they will conquer the Shar Vahl camp near the Cat City zone line.

When they take over, there will be a boss in the Shar Vahl camp. Kill him and his locals to reset the war and zone. Also the Main baddies usually have some good goodies.

Camp Summary

He spawns at pos 3000 pos 2000. Mobs here have very short agro range, some where lt blue at 40.
I was a 40th lvl BL at the time. I buffed my pet outside the cave and parked him there. I then moved to near aforemention position uninvised by keeping my distance from all mobs. If you were to stand behind PH or Gleek and move into the hole against the wall to his right you can single pull him to there (at my lvl). I then summoned my pet to hole and parked him. I killed 8 mobs, 6 PH and 2 Gleeks. First time he droped head piece, second time the belt. Both items are nice with AC10 and helpful stats for BL. Spawn time is 12 mins on him or PH and 1 min on most the other spawns except mystic nearby which is also 12 mins. So keeping the room clear is not an option. Room has wizards, shamans, and warriors so if you are less than 40 bring help. He wasn't immune to root, snare, slow, or disease.

Camped this guy last night when the Grimlings took over the OB cave. He definitely pops randomly. He popped 3 times in a row for me, then his ph popped once... Gleeknot popped one last time for me. After that I killed the PH 6 times in a row - Gleeknot had enough for the night I suppose! It dropped:
3 caps
1 belt

Glad I had my alts camped there - so nothing rotted!

One question about the belt though... as many people probably wonder. When you look up the haste on this belt - it lists the WELL KNOWN belts: FBSS, FRSS and others. Are all these belts the same? The page lists the haste: Increase Attack Speed for between 2% (L1) to 50% (L49) - so the well sought out FBSS belt... this
Belt of the Grimling Skullcracker is BETTER? just no drop? since this belt has the additional statz. Does anyone REALLY know? I can go sell the FBSS belt my war has now? (Which I think I would just give it to an alt :) )

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

btw the haste precentage is not the same i hate this to many ppl don't understand the haste % on anything. The haste they list on this website is the chanter haste spell...The weapons are permanant haste an have their own set haste% it never grows an it never lowers...it doesn't proc it is jus there fer wearing it.

can anyone tell me the exact haste on this belt please. my guildies told me about this guy and i got a belt for my rogue and a cap for my druid. 7 spawns is all it took but a guildie of mine camped him for a while before. Cap is rare i think. so if anyone has any info on the haste pls post it.

Gleeknot Gnitrat spawns in the Owlbear caves in Skrietat'Cha's normal location during the times when the Grimlings hold the Owlbear caves. He seems to be a melee type who does not cast, but may have a damage shield cast on him by one of the nearby Grimling Manacrafters who are wizards. I only fought him once, but he seemed to be a little tougher to beat than Skrietat'Cha for my paladin. He dropped the Belt of the Grimling Skullcracker.

ammendment:
I went back later to get some more goodies from this guy. This time he dropped the Mystical Headshrinker's Skullcap - a very nice head piece for casters and priests. We got his placeholder most of the time, but during the four times I've killed him here are the drops:
  • 2 belts
  • 2 caps

Was on my way to Katta one day when I decided to check out the cave where the named owlbears pop. I get to the back end of the cave and I see this named Grimling. He conned green to me (51 chanter) as did all his buddies, so since I was sowed I decided to nuke him. Only he attacked me, his buddies stood there watching him die. Three nukes and a couple of roots and he was down. Looted some no drop arms, can't remember exact stats but I do recall they had 2 to all attributes and had a 2% modifier on throw attacks. They would be decent level 30 arms I suppose but not as good as mine, but neat anyway.
