To those of you who suggest it's a hidden effect and the site isn't wrong: why would a mantle made of tiger skins have anything to do with someone's wyvern? Do any of the other tiger armors have hidden effects? No. I don't know who started this rumor, but it's as likely as a brone subligar giving TH.
Im looking at the feral mantle right now and it doesnt have any breath enhancing stats. lvl and ef are correct, but war/mnk/rdm/thf/pld/drk/bst/brd/rng/sam/nin/and drg can all use it.
I think the "wyvern uses breath more effectively" is just that. It doesnt say more often, or stronger. I think what it means is the Wyvern is more likely to use the correct breath.
Ie: It will choose the breath attack that the monster is weak to on a more regular basis. Meaning it is less likely to do foolish things, like using Hydro Breath on crabs, or Fire Breath on fire elementals.
Not sure that this has anything to do with the healing breath. It might only be for the attack breaths.
Dragoon's AF1 helm has the same effect. I am not sure whether or not it affects the offensive breath, but it makes the Wyvern able to heal you or your group mates that are under 50% health as opposed to it healing at under 33.3% health.
I suppose this would have the same effect, maybe less potent then that of the AF1 helmet.
"Triggers" after 50%? I've been using RDM sub with AF helm and it certainly won't work at 50% HP. It's 1/3HP at best and I have to cast a spell for it to work.
I'll test this mantle out when I hit 64. Maybe it increases how much Healing Breath III with heal for, who knows.
Verified through description that this item is simply DEF10. In theory, the "Wyvern Uses Breaths More Effectively" attribute could be hidden (a la carbuncle gloves hidden effect), but I've asked around and the healing breath still triggers only after 50% with AF helm on and 33% with AF helm off with the mantle equipped. (/hurray for scientific process!)
