Patchcraft show on Track as an NPC, and will become a one-level-lower agro mob as you approach. Taming one to be a warder breaks the spawn cycle. When you find one and kill it another immediately spawns. Kill that one and a third - always a patchcraft keeper instead of the original type - spawns. Keepers are goblins and do not update the Achievement, but drop a chest with 3 Fool's Gold Coins.
Every now and then the Keeper will drop an ornate chest with one of these level 95 Legendary cloaks or belts which have the same appearance and slightly different stats:

Patchcraft are reported to spawn in low-level overland zones near similar animals. This is no doubt an incomplete list, so please explore and add (here or on the Discuss page) any others you find!
It seems that each zone has three sets of spawn locations. Daray has created excellent map guides to the Greater Faydark, Antonica, and Timorous Deep spawns. Click the "Map" links to see them!
