As powerful in defense as in attack, the lancer's role in a fight is at the head of the formation. His heavy shield absorbs damage, while his lance provides striking power that's targeted yet effective against multiple foes. Numerous skills for drawing aggro means the lancer takes more heat, and other party members get more opportunities. A lancer in the party affords other comrades the chance to strike while taking minimal damage.

Playing Style

If your style is roaring defiance at your foes, then standing fast and dispensing damage while shielding nearby party members from harm, you may just be a lancer at heart.

Arms and Armor

The lancer's formidable weapon set includes a powerful lance and shield that doubles as a weapon. This combination makes lancers a two-handed attack force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.

Lancers fight in heavy armor, and with the addition of their outstanding shield defense, take less damage in a fight than either warriors or slayers.

There is no particular finesse to the lancer's assault, but there is muscle enough to batter foes to the ground and might enough to create a defense zone for comrades in battle. Shield blocks reduce damage for the lancer and nearby comrades, creating a savings in support resources like healing.

The addition of a lancer to any party means sheer battering power and enhanced defense, as well as a fighter who can dish out damage and take it, too.

Skill Overview

Lancer skills include lance thrusts and charges, shield parries and bashes, aggro-attracting shouts, armor-weakening bashes, and retaliatory strikes. You'll accumulate fighting power with your basic attack, then use it to fuel even more effective assaults on your enemies.

Lancers enter the world with a damage-dealing combo attack that grows stronger with repetition, and a shield block that turns aside frontal damage. In no time you'll begin to acquire skills that will make you even more terrifying to your foes.

Party Role

Lancers are most valuable in a tanking role, but unlike other tanks they're capable of providing a zone of diminished damage for comrades who need a breather between heals or a safe place from which to cast or shoot.

Lancers' heavy armor and damage-blocking shield defense means less work for healers and more protection for vulnerable classes. Stunning shield bashes render enemies easier to damage, while aggro-attracting shouts draw fire away from other players, making the lancer a major contributor to group play, and a welcome addition to any fighting party.

Aggro

The most effective skill is Roar, but too long cool time. Spring Attack and Shield Barrage are the second.
Regard Combo Attack as MP Regen skill.

When enemy is too far use leash..

With highly reinforced weaopned dealers(about +8 or +9), it is not easy to maintain aggro.
With extremely highly reinforced master piece weaponed dealers(over +10), it is hard to maintan aggro.
And Scroll using with monsterous weaponed dealer(LV 50 Akasha weapon, LV58 Dancing Piero Weapon)....
it is nightmare...

Combo Attack
1
Strikes a nearby target and restores a certain amount of MP. Pressing attack button repeatedly to make combo attacks with each strike getting stronger.
Shield Block
1
Guards all frontal attacks with a shield, decreasing damage by 90%. Defense is only effective while holding down skill button. All allies behind you receive the same defense effect as yours.
Ferocious Charge
2
Places a lance forward, charges in damaging a target consecutively. Resistance rate to knock-down status increases while in charging.
Riposte
6
Counterattacks the target while defending. You can use this skill only when in Shield Defense.
Roar of Defiance
10
Draws attention of nearby enemies within 10m, greatly increasing aggro level.
Soaring Attack
12
Attacks the target while standing up. You can only use this skill when you are knocked down.
Shield Bash
16
Wields a shield and hits nearby targets, knocking down for 3s.
Noose
20
Throws a hook to the target, drawing the target to the caster. Too big target cannot be drawn, and a hook flies to as far as 15m.
Crash Gear
26
Crashes target's equipments with a strong blow. Attacked target suffers from decreasing defense by -7% at each attack received over 10s. This effect can stack up to 3 times on the same target.
Aura of Inspiration
30
Generates an aura enhancing defense of all group members within a 20m radius by 15% for 30s. The effect cancels when attacked and knocked down. The caster is excluded from receiving the effect.
Infuriate
36
Infuriates all nearby enemies within 10m radius, forcing them to attack the caster.
