Aion does not have a mechanism for gaining or losing Faction, as many games do. The factions are set in stone and cannot be altered. If you are an Elyos you are KOS to Asmodians, and vice-versa, and that cannot be changed.

Each of the Ascended races has a Crafting faction as well as three fighting Societies that work to advance the war effort.
