In the long run... |

Is Slam (for large races) or kick better? I know slam can stun, but it does less damage than kick. What I'm wondering is if the extra kick damage is enough to use it instead of slam, thereby losing the stun possibility. I'm asking about post level 20 or so. |

I'm level 30 and I slam all the time. The biggest thing about slam is it will interrupt a caster. The stun may add some, but the interrupt is the biggest aspect.
If you keep them both maxed, then you can kick when fighting melee types and slam for casters and fleeing mobs. Then you get the bes |

Root definitely has its failings, and as I'm only level 20 I can't comment on Snare. But there are ways to get around the problem with root breaking too early in the fight, namely by not opening with it as you describe.
In scenarios where root is unlikely to hold for long, I've had good success |

I'm wondering, as I am small race warrior, would it be best to carry around a 2hs weapon or two 1hs for primary use (I don't like switching around). I will bring up both, but I prefer usually having a standard kind of weapon that I like.
I was thinking, if I did more damage with dual wield, I would |

Well I cannot stress enough how important it is to have both 1 and 2hs (I keep them both maxed out np and I am a Dwarf Warrior) but if you must have only one of them then go for the 1 hs because...
1. You can use a shield and bash (to interupt spell casters) if you wish or just to have the extra AC |

I'm thinking of becoming a ranger and I have some important questions (to me at least):
-are the spells a ranger gets actually useful? I played a paladin, shadowknight, and warrior to level 16 each; and I have to say that the warrior was hands down my top choice. The spells that the other two c |

The other posters are somewhat correct in saying you need multiple skills, I am currently maxxing 1h slash, 2hslash, piercing, and I have a minimal skill in 1hand blunt, You NEVER know what you are going to get ;) its always good to be prepared.
However, you may want to go with just both 1hand |

Answer 1: Ranger spells are adequate, but certainly don't dish out the damage or support that their druid brothers sisters. I think where we are weakest is our healing ability until lvl 22. Train and practice bind wound alot. :)
Answer 2: My ranger is half-elf and she kicks butt. I know woo |

I don't have any problems for cost, I got given a forest loop for free. I have a Langseax, Screaming Mace, Full Crafted, SSB, Exe Axe... I'm just wondering which is most useful in normal combat.
Thank you, all, for the advice. |

greetings,
I am currently a 19lvl he ranger on the lanas tyvl server. I found hunting beetles in wet karanas be to very good exp. They have poor loot but you can also hunt wisps in that zone, turn the gls 's in to Mrsilla at the gypsy camp for a book worth ~9pp. good exp and good money:)

i would say that Lgashu is right ...but i prefer a wood elf beuase of the dex and agi they get it lets you dodge attaks better and you also get a few skills before other ranger races...
the reason you say your warrior is better is cuz warriors ...are the easiest to lvl ...they get good bonus...but |

Get yourself 1 friend and do some of the easy xp spots. Here are 2 suggestions for a lvl 13 char:
1. Sisters camp in LF (max about 14)
2. Sirens in OOT (max about 17)
There are of course places everywhere you could go - another option is to become friends with a lvl 14 druid and go to La |

I'm sorry but give me an arbitor's combine sword over dual yaks anyday or the week. One previous poster said that 2hs won't taunt because it's slow - WRONG! When I hit a mob for dual 100's it get's his attention. It really depends on what weapons you can get your hands on but I use 2hs and 2hb al |

If you don't mind the faction hits, killing some of the dwarves on Sister Island in the OOT is a reasonably safe place to solo through 30 and 31. It won't beat a good group in a good zone, but since at that point we can gate around it's a nice spot to go when you're having trouble getting a group.

I would have to agree, a group in the orc hill is a fairly good option. If you must solo, however, stick to the area between the orc lift and orc hill and pick off wandering Cents. Root is your friend! I know, it may not be critical at your level, but if you get in the habit of rooting things you'll |

Yes, being agnostic as an Ogre and Troll is a good thing if you ever wish to trade at the "good" cities. You are not liked, and any advantage you can bring about will help in factions...
This is not neccessarily true of the good classes, while it may be convienient for raising your troll faction |

you should stick on SK
at 25 Spires and treants are a realy good deal, but if you're that bored you should find a good group and get in split paw.
you'll find good action, good loot and as good xp there, and i if you still get bored in it, then you should try to play quake 3 |

I just have one question for you then.... if you have been in HK basement that long, you should have built up a VERY decent little bankroll. With the way the servers are overcrowded, a lot of good Ranger only items are for sale pretty cheap, such as the Ivy-etched Tunic I picked up for 250 PP's. Why |
