I hear ya, Blizzardeus. Unfortunately, this is usually the first bottleneck Druids and Rangers run into for their epics, and greedy people will take advantage. JR's go for up to 25kpp on Vazaelle, and I never even considered trying to buy one. Luckily, my guild spent a lot of time in CoM, and I g |

Yes damage generates taunt. But you yourself acknowledge that more touches generate more agro if the ammount of damage done is aproximately the same. DOT spells generate an inordnant amount of agro for the damage done. Why? Because the damage is applied every second. I'm sure if you had a wizard nuk |

As a ranger I take offense to that;-) Seriously though, it's probably your AC. At level 30 I have more AC than you do at 38(only half the hp though....). I get beat down occasionally, well, all the time if I don't fight smart, but that's only if I forget I have spells. I suggest you either group |

Your newbie armor will be fine for awhile. In the weapons department, Polished Granite Tomahawk is a fun little weapon (6dmg 26dly 6.50wt effect: Beserker Strength) with a proc' that increases stats and absorbs damage. On my server (Tribunal) they are usually under 100pp or just given away. You a |

You are right AC is King. But
AC don't mean a thing if, you can't make it ding.
In other words if you're not the one holding agro all the ac in the world don't do you or your gorup any good.
So get the weapons first, as you said weapons are easier than a full set of armor.

I'd say your weapons are fine for your level, don't worry about them too much until after level 20 when your damage cap comes off. (just make sure your wepon skills .. 1 handed slash, 1 handed blunt etc are maxxed each level. Your skill in them should be (level * 5) +5)

Hail Fellow Ranger,
If I were you and this ranger happens to be your main character, I would goto Befallen and loot the Servant's Blade: 11/30 +5sta +5dex +5hp. I would also save an additional 50pp more for a total of 100pp and buy the Icetooth's Claw: 11/29 or the Blackened Alloy Longsword: 10/2 |
