At level 4 I would go to steamfont and fight the kobolds until level 6 or 7. Then at at 6 or 7 go to butcherblock and kill the dwarven skelatons until 8 or 9.

1. are they the most POWERFUL caster type?
2. because wizzys don't get pets... are they considered weaker then a necro or a mage?
3. what race makes a good wizard?
4. what's a good way to gain levels early on
5. what's the epic thing for a wizard hehe :)

Totally agree. Meleeing as a casters once you get into your 20's is a waste of time. Why sit there and just keep missing the mob or hit hit once or twice for a few points of damage when you can be casting a spell on it that does well over a hundred damage? Its just stupid. Yes the mage epic pet is awesome, but do you know how damn hard those things are to get? The epic quests have been out for about 8 months now, and there are still only 3-4 mages on each server that have them.

Yes, it is possible to get level 17 pets at level 16. For some wierd reason they jump back up to being able to con yellow at 16. At 20 you can get white cons, but 95% of the time you will get blues. After level 20 all pets that you summon will be blue or green. The only exception to this is the magi |

I don't thinkt that your spell skills such as conjuration, evocation, etc. do anything to effect your casting times, however I know FOR SURE that they effect how much your spells fizzle. Conjuration might affect how often you get a max level pet, but I'm not sure. Its best to just keep your spell ski |

Hello all, lv 52 wiz on the quellious server here.

One week of NOT porting anyone. (guildies and close freinds are the exception).
I think this will open peoples eyes to the importance of the wizzie and druid |

I actually think that the monster summoning is pretty dumb for soloing. Yeah, its cool for looks and to play around with, but its a random pet. I think the monster summoning line should have summoned a pet that actually had the same statistics of the kind of monster you summoned. Of course it would |

I loved the thing you wrote about gargoyles! I had totally forgotten about them when I wrote my guide! I went there at level 18 with one of my mages and it was pretty cool. The only problem is that before level 20 your pet is a bit weak against them, and if your pet dies and you can't kill the garg |

UM.....as a magician you really CAN'T solo without a pet. If magicians got root, then you MIGHT be able to, but even then it wouldn't work very well. The only way you would be able to solo without a pet is with Jboots or SOW. Then you could kite mobs around and blast them. That would be horribly ine |

Yes, flame bolt is worth getting. It is really fun to use becuase of the huge range it has, and besides that, it can kill things quicker then shock of blades if you need quick damage.

If you won't have much time to play then I would say play a magician becuase they can solo better. Although wizards DO get teleports and that would save time for you if you can't play much. I would probably say to a play a mage though. I think they are more enjoyable overall.

I think that at one time it was possible to charm on the PvP servers, but I think that you can't now becuase it was too powerful and becuase there a lot of exploits you can cause with it. |

That message would be the necro pet. Becuase the necro pets start casting lifetap at higher levels and I think that is the message it gives. Thats pretty weird, didn't know monster summoning could give necro pets. If does that sort of sucks though, becuase magi pets are better.

A wood elf is good for grouping, but ogres are more soloable. If you want a mixture of both, i suggest a troll! why? Mainly they regen 2x as fast as any other race. Not to mention they have better charisma than ogres so you can put your bonus points into agi, dex, wis, and/or int! just kill a lot |

Practice Practice Practice. That is about the only think you can do as far as stats, now if you got some money you can invest in some AGI/DEX gear which is what determines weather or not you hit and if you proc when you do. Other than that just keep swinging. |

Decent loot can be found in Commons from willowisps, but they are few and far between in many cases (too many people love to kill the little buzzing sparkle balls) so head to kerra isle, there are tons of wisps and it is out of the way so not many people there...
