Hi,
I am wondering, with all the spells available to a Wizard at level 8, which spells would be recommeded to fill the 8 slots? I group a little and solo a little if that helps and I am a Gnome in Ak'Anon/ Steamfont area. I don't know if I should still continue to Melee or use direct damage spell |

illomen in Kunark Rocks for you at this lvl!! There is an expansion xp bonus, easy to find a group, and good for solo if you don't want to group. I hope you have kept tracking maxed as this will make you most useful here. You have wide open hunting grounds and would be an ideal puller for a group |

Actually, some drachnids can see thru camo, make sure to con them to find out (if they say indifferent, camo is working, if they say "ready to attack", it is not.
Highhold pass is my favorite zone for your lvl, good exp and you can bind at highkeep. It is a bit confusing going thru all the windi |

Dim pockets are great for a day of hunting. There will be many times when they will come in handy. If your using regular backpacks before long you will be overweight and have to leave loot on the ground. This is when the dim pockets start comming in handy. I always have 2 real backpacks for the real |

As Nunnin states, considering your pet will give you approximate level. Go to www.magecompendium.com for more info on all Mage related stuff. To answer the question, if you're 16, let's say, and you conjure a 17th level pet, it will hit an 18th level MoB pretty well. The problem will be your spells |

Definitely pick up Dimensional Pocket, even if you have to go to Ak'Anon (you can gate back). As one other reply already stated, they'll pay for themselves over and over, especially in Lavastorm from 12-16. As an aspiring smith, I still go to lavastorm for ore brick collecting with no concern on enc |

Take a look at www.magecompendium.com and you'll get all the answers you seek. The most powerful pet depends on the situation. Earth and Water are good for soloing, Fire is good in groups and Air is invaluable in dungeons or vs casters. As far as our most powerful spell, it is widely considered to b |

Zuranthium is right on the money. Test the HP and then keep it in mind (hey, we're super intelligent, right?) Another way to ensure you do more damage is pull with DD nuke and look at target's health meter, sic pet about every othe tick, throw a nuke. When mob gets below 1/4 HP and tries to flee, pu |

One addition to above post, fire elementals and crocs aren't the only social/aggros in zone. Always be on the lookout for fire imps/sprites. They will join a fight if they're within 100 feet of one. Use same strategy as for fire elems to deal with them. I did this zone from low 14 to mid 17 and only |

Before you give up in frustration from either playing a mage or reading the various posts from people who levelled to 60 in 15 minutes, just sit back and read some good strategies on various sites. Zuranthium has a good guide on this page. www.magecompendium.com has good stuff, EQ Casters Realm and |

I'm a level 20 Wizard and I don't see how dodge and defense can factor in unless you solo alot. I don't think a higher dodge or defense can lessen the chances of being interrupted once a mob is meleeing you. I mean they may not hit you, but they will still interrupt you. So your chances of gettin |

I'm not positive about this, but I think most of the summoned-item spells are also available in the Ocean of Tears. Get on the boat at Freeport and get off at Sister Island (noticible by a named wood elf female on the dock). Swim a little northwest of the island (best to keep up invis to avoid the g |

I have also hears that "tail" but I must also say that I have heard that you can find those spells in neriak and in erudin. Also I found the lvl 20 Air pet spell in freeport guild. All in all I have just about found half of my Lvl20 spells in freeport.Good luck.

Kunark (Firiona Vie/Frontier Mts/Overthere/Lake of Ill Omen)
Being in Kunark since mid 16, I can definitely say that you could solo here till mid 30's without having to leave and faction doesn't matter.

I will tell you right now where the absolute BEST place to be is for a Magician at lvl 26-35. DALNIRS CRYPT. Get in a full group there and you will see absolutely INSANE exp untill around lvl 30, then it will just be normal exp but dalnir is still good up untill lvl 35.

At level 35 you should be grouping, to get the "good Loot" requires at least a partner. Giants in Rathe Mts might be an exception, but its not great loot.
Good Loot areas for level 35:
Fronteer Mts - Giants requires a small group at level 35, too many adds that cast, hit hard, root
