I'm a level 1 ranger in Qeynos Hills. Is it appropriate for a ranger to slay vermin, e.g. bats, spiders, beetles, snakes, rats, in order to get their loot or body parts? Appeciate any advice.

Fire beetle eyes are nice loot. I also took up fishing in Surefall when I started. Fish, fishscales and the occasional dagger are all sellable, and you're right next to the merchants when you're ready for cash. |

I was lucky around that time and a high-level friend gave me a Gnoll Hide Lariat. It won't proc of course, but it IS magic. That and Flame Lick should be enough to win the battle. Gnoll Hide Lariats run about 10p or less, I think.
Good luck! |

Statwise, you might wanna go with the High Elf. They also have night vision to boot.
The Erud's have highest int, so this means you should make it to the int soft cap in a hurry and then spend the rest of your enhancements to your lesser stats.
No one really has a distinct advantage. While Er |

In Everfrost peaks, there are orcs which drop wrath orc wristbands for a quest (turn 2 in to Cindl in Halas), there are also snow cats, fuzzy spidies to get silk from and some mammoth calfs should be blue and white to you. I agree West Karana is also an option, but to solo, I think Everfrost is a g |

Yes you can kill the vermin you listed. If you are role playing just don't kill bears & wolves. If you don't care about role play and kill bears & wolves watch out for a couple of wandering rangers who will slaughter you if you kill their bear & wolf friends. |

I am at lvl 26 and agree with you. I would say you should solo 50-75% of the time with a ranger for now. This definatly helps you learn the inns & outs of a zone. That is invaluable for when you are grouping the other 25-50% of the time. You will be expected to pull allot due to your tracking, a |

Well everything you just read is great and tried and true. There are a few more risky ways of going about this. In my wizy days 44lvl I actually try to get agro about half the time. I like to this short field kiting. When the pull shows up and everyone starts whacking and bombing away I tend to Bla |

I have never heard that there's any benefit to waiting to train in anything. In fact, I've found the opposite. If you don't start doing Sense Heading till level 20, it's EXTRA hard to get that skill to advance. Here's some advice on skill training.
- Train in the useful skills ONLY ONCE. It |

At lvl 1 the best way to make coin is to kill things and loot them, sell what you cant use. |
