Some of these reasons are not very good. Use your own judgement.
Reasons to be a high elf:
Start in Gfay. (this could be a minus)
Can one day smith mithril chain for yourself.
Infravision, but this is irrelevant later.
Most high elves are clerics, break the mold.
Reasons to be a dark elf:

Not that I know of I had a friend playing a cherecter on my Acct. and when he got EQ for his own a GM said they cant trade Charecters from one Acct to another. I would Assume that it is the same way with changing servers. The only time I have ever seen anyone able to change server is with the /move |

At level 28 I've found soloing getting to be more difficult but still very possible. I know how difficulty taking evens and yellow are pretty much out of the question, but high blues are still very possible. You've just got to find the right hunting grounds for your level. |

The best advise I have is to loot as many corpses as possible and sell your loot. By doing this you are increasing your experience points by constantly fighting and increasing your money by selling your loot.
You can also run the Bard's quest by taking a letter from Surefall Glade to Qyenos bard |

Actually specialization only does two things. It reduces mana cost and reduces your chance to fizzle. It does nothing to casting times.

batwings. lots and lots of batwings. qeynos is a place a lot of mid level druids and shammys stop off at before hitting/camping/farming permafrost and points north. on bertoxx you can usually get a couple plat easy by selling a stack of 20. nobody wants to spend time killing stuff that has been conn |

try to buy some large sewing kits. individually they only weigh around .3 i think, but if you replace 4 backpacks with 4 large sewing kits thats 10-11 you are saving on weight. just remember to be careful and not click combine when you close it as you lose everything in it and the gm's wont give out |

Erudites may get best INT but who wants to look like Rue Paul in a Genie outfit? Erudites look stupid as much as Dark Elves have bad faction. So if you dont care about roleplaying and don't mind working it to the left....then go Erudite.
Nameless, Classless....

I hear that the Erudites are the epitomy of screwy looks but I also don't like the idea of being KOS in lots of places BEFORE I get the chance to piss everyone off. I like the High Elves a bit but I am not sure that trading for good looks in exchange for Strength and Intelligence is such a good idea |

I agree with the last on the bows and arrows. Start working on fletching skill. Make arrows and then go use them, two birds, one stone. Also, to make the trueshot longbow (dmg 20, dly 45, rg: 125) you need at a minimum 150 in fletching to make. The quest items for a trueshot are easily gotten, b |

I agree with that. I never taunt, if I want the mobs attention I try to keep enough mana to cast Flame Lick or Snare, useful things to have cast on mobs and it almost always draws their attention. Plus, the ONLY reason to get a mob's attention is if it is on one of your healers or casters, and you |
