This does indeed drop from Lord Soptyver, a named Evil Eye deep in Beholder. It has been awhile, but I believe the spawn rate on him is about a week, which makes this quest difficult to do. The item is a great face piece for Cazic Thule Erudite clerics though. Good luck. |

I've camped the area in Beholder where the named evil eyes spawn. Lord Soptyvr has spawned frequently. I'd guess the spawn cycle to be as short as 8 hours and as long as 24 hours. For what it's worth, I was able to solo him with my 32 Paladin.

Those two are more rare to find, but they're also typically more rare in use by dragons and the like. Fire, Magic, those are the two biggies you'll run into against the big lizards.
I could be wrong, but that was always my impression of the dragons. |

polished obsidian axe? I believe you mean polished granite tomahawk. 6/25 or so procs berserker strength, +10 str -10 agi 50 hp damage absorb. Anyways, not to get off topic, this weapon is great for rogues or rangers in their off hand - a nice damage value, without that pesky speed for taunting. Def |

I have a lvl 52 Shaman and this weapon works very well when clearing out a room of green mobs...also love the look - kinda looks like a battering ram. Get a kick out of the comments I get from my guildies when I equip this...freaks them out. =) |

I killed HG's and Griffons in NK and EK on occasion to break up the repetition of DL at 40-45. As well solo Drakkel Dire wolves in GD on occassion. At 46-50 I solo'd off and on in EW doing wooly Rhinos and Mammoths. I also like BW at 49-51 by the Chardok for kiting Sarnaks. |

Doing a little search on the Internet revealed that this drops from Ratmen in Dragon Necropolis. |

Basically what this means is that every round the mob fails a save vs. cold your weapon scores as 11/16.
Just like spells the mob can have a partial or complete resist. So the weapon ranges from 11/16 to 7/16 each round depending on the cold resists/immunity of the mob.
