Version Update in October!

October Version Update

The next version update is currently under development and scheduled to be released in mid-October. Expect all-new Assault areas, missions, quests, and enemies, not to mention even tougher Besieged battles and a plethora of other new content!

Sorry reply doesnt seem to work.
goodeaten, FFXI has PVP in the forms of Brenner, Abdaljis-Outpost and Ballista.

Try them, they are really fun :)

i wish Final fantasy had PvP. that would make the game a little more interesting. maybe have like a designated area that ppl good go just to fight each other.

Besieged at lvl 5 doesnt need to get any harder than it already is. I really don't think besieged needs any changes other than it has to happen more frequently and maybe give more exp and IS going from what lvl the raid is at. -.-;

I'm sure when everyone reads that Besieged is becoming tougher they just think of the level 5 raids off the bat. I'm only 71 DRG and I've been in some level 3-4 Besiege raids that I've been left saying, "What? That's it...that sucked." Because it was too easy. I know you've seen the people that "~yawn*" after those. Yes. When people yawn that means besieged is too hard [sarcasm.] I would love to see them boost the toughness of the lower level raids.

my first thoughts of 'harder' were beastmen forces going past lv 5. the mamool ja and -especially- the damned undead are bad enough at lv 5, i dread the thought of anything that might be harder than that (has anyone maneged to kill one of those air missile-bomb things yet?).
i really wanna say otherwise, but seein news like this from SE starts to galvanize in my head that they dont listen, and they do what they -think- is good for us.. kinda like the government X3

Doesn't anyone else believe SE should take a step back and take a look at what we the players really need?

Besieged - some how have more participants in besieged, and not just people that use dia once and still get the full exp and IS. Also, adjust besieged with the number of people, the mobs are just to hard with 100 people fighting.

Hydra - What kind of joke is this? drop items are @$#% for a hard fight.

Cerberus - Needs update

Wryms - Jouramonger(sp), Tiamat, Vrtra, Ouryu need some serious updates.

Sky - Needs some help.

Sea - also needs help, better drop rate maybe even better equipment.

King NM - Needs some serious help, 200+ in one zone???

Seriously, why is sky armor still so much better then Sea?

Fellowship NPC - Anything new happening or is it done?

I wouldn't mind a few redesigns on some of the armors, there's some really creative designs on simple armors like errant.
Maybe have a contest and have players design a few armors?

Besieged is hard enough as it is, unless your 60 chances that you'll make a useful contribution besides magic spam are low. I tried a run as 31BLU, managed to land maybe on or 2 spells and died about 5 times. /cheer.
As 75RDM and 73THF its not that hard to hit stuff (and do dmg), but if they crank it up more it will become annoying and people WILL stop doing besieged just because its too hard to be useful.
Ever since they introduced guards near the archaic mirrors, all the beastmen areas on Bismarck have had 8/8 AM all the time because its too much of a hassle to kill the damn things and even if you do, with a few hours its back. NM's are hardly killed in the area's, most of the time prisoners aren't being rescued or stay captive a loooong time (poor AH manager was in Halvung for over a month).

I dont think making besieged harder is a good idea. Make it more balanced might be a good idea so lower levels can participate.

Actualy thereason most people do is because the new areas have lots of spots that are good for burn parties.

My record is 40k exp and chain 157 in a party. Yes chains go that far you just have to be killing the mobs extreamly fast. We had a crazy brd puller who would sleep 3-5 mobs at once and we kinda ended up killing to stay alive. It was really fun.

Backdraw on these kind of PT is, that group that DONT merit/spam there and need the mobs for regular exp have problems grabbing mobs. yesterday i was levelling thf in caederva mire with a 71-73 group (ended as 72-74, good group) and there was 1 other group staying near the imp spawns in the valley and 1 group pulling every mob in sight even if they ghad 3-4 mobs already between the ponds. When I commented them on it, and kindly asked to leave the flies and imps on our side for us as much as possbile, i was told to fokk off and party somewhere else. We were there first and in the end we used our bst and smn to claim multiple mobs. Then I got a tell from them saying we were assgobblers claiming more then 1 mob at once. WTF? I didnt bother my PT with it, but those people (a certain HNMLS on Bismarck which i shant name further) should learn a lesson in diplomacy and fair play. Its a good thing I rejected their invite a year ago, or I would have been an assh*l* now as well.

/end rant, and Cookie, nothing personal to you btw just had to get it off my chest.

BTW you can exp there without Astral Candy, but exp will be lower. If you dont like that, there is always Ve'Luganon palace, The Garden of Ru'Mhet and ole' Lufaise Meadows :). Or KRT for MNK pt ^^

Make lvl's 50+ usuful in Besieged.
Not everyone is 75.
I'm DRK57 and I cannot hit any Besieged Mob in normal conditions.
Stun is all I do.

PUP 54 can hit besieged mobs, as does the automaton. Granted, only criticals are >0 damage, but PUP/RDM still does damage. The automaton hits for 6-7.

Besides, Stun IS usefull in besieged... assuming you can cut through the lag fast enough to see mobs use Firaga X...

I swear SE hates us. As everyone else has already said Beseiged is hard enough. The rewards hardly merit the headaches...I mean really, 700xp??

Now for the flip side of this argument though...I'll start with a quick question. Why does everybody want to xp in the new areas at medium high to high levels? The answer is the xp bonus from sanction. Thats what we're really fighting besieged battles for. We fight to keep the astral candescence for that pretty xp bonus.

Now this is not to say that I agree with the idea of making Beseiged harder. Lord knows the undead are nasty mo-fos! But let's not bash the "lack of rewards". How quickly people forget what they've already been given and start demanding more. Admittedly though it would be nice if there were less lag. Also I would like to see something a bit more friendly toward the poor lower levels who want to come in and help, after all, beseiged is available to those level 50+ lets allow them to be useful for more than just a raise or cure. Perhaps lower the mobs levels but make a whole bunch more of em (doubt that would help the lag issue though). Whatever the case, I'm reserving judgement on this until I see the end result.

I thought Besiedged was suppost to be fun but it's harder then it needs to be and on top of that the xp sucks. The only thing I like about it is that you get "I.S." and thats not that high too. Maybe what they need to do is make it so that there are less mobs to fight, but are still the same strenght and make it that you also get some items as rewards as well. But the items are common in a sense, so as that you don't get the gilsellers to over camp the items or that they make the items RA/EX and that you can replace it only in a Beseidged battle, (e.g. a staff or a wand maybe even a sword that has a special power or even a ring or armor with a special enchantment), this way you never get a problem with the battle like for instacne an enchantment that lets you get more Experience Points or Imperial Standing but only in a besedged battle. Well thats my 2 cents worth anyway.

Tougher Besiged? ::throws hands up in disgust:: Not worth it. It's already a pain in the a$$ as it is. At this point, I think I will avoid Aht Urgan as much as possible. It's no fun at all to walk into an area and get poned in one hit by crap you can't see. Making Besieged tougher may fix the lag issues by having everyone who might be interested in a challenge give it up as an "Impossible" situation, but fixing the lag by throwing out the players doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

Ummmm.....Maybe it's just me, but why would we want even tougher Besieged battles? Unless they are going to up the XP gain all they are going to do is make people angry and make the AC in Beastman control more. Personally I think beseiged is about perfect maybe even too tough since the reward is a lowly 700 xp and IS.
