new patch idea
# Oct 12 2005 at 4:01 PM Rating: Decent
SoE needs to put a banker in the guild lobby for when ppl are lobbying there corpses from raids or what not instead of having to run into the guild hall or into PoK for cash to summon the carcass they have out there.

Idea, bind in PoK bank, grab coin on death then run to guild lobby. Being one to remember the days of Running zones, taking boat rides and getting ports I see this post as a sad commentary of how easy Sony has made some things in game and led to bringing up ideas like this.

i personally liked the revamp, regardless of what all you little people say :P the revamp was the best thing soe did. now Splitpaw needs to be changed back to its orignal state that zone just sucks
Butcher Block Monster Mission

I hope they fix the BB MM... It is pathetic how people are abusing that mission to farm AA's. When one toon can go in and do the mission in 45 min and 5 others can sit outside the zone AFK and still get the XP it is an abuse of the system and should be removed. I have seen some peeps get 200 AA's in a week while their toon has not even moved.

As a tradeskiller of 2400 points, this comes too late for me to enjoy. Smiley: banghead

I hear your pain. I too am addicted to trade skilling and frequently deal with merchants. What fun it is to hunt for the itzy bitzy X in the top corner of the screen.

I am very glad I got my Vampire Teeth sub-quest done too. Although I could probably handle the deep dungeon, it would not have been very pretty. Took me about 6 nights of camping 2-4hrs per night to get those two fangs to drop.

I have no idea what the real reason for this claw-back is. I can only assume that the uber guilds have farmed the snot out of those zones and they too are getting bored of them. (I wish I had a 45% haste belt.) I wonder what the next zones to get temporarily upped are?

Hey Sony. How about Black Burrow dungeon for lvl 70s or a huge wide open zone like West Karana? Pick places that nobody is using.
RE: BUTTON!
# Oct 12 2005 at 3:20 PM Rating: Decent
you are a human ranger (like myself) and you want to give up West Karana? my home? and the home of my clan?
The whole idea of taking away lower level zones was ill-advised from the start.
Splitpaw was a great zone for the 40's, gone.
Last I heard, real estate was not at a premium in cyber space. If jaded, bored ubers need new zones, then make new zones.

very glad to get the done button back as well, does SOE even look at these changes before they implement them? you mean that a hundred people at SOE studied the new merchant interface for weeks and no one noticed what every EQ player noticed in 3 minutes "where is the done button?".

The problem I have now is that they put the button where the "BUY" button was and I cant even count the number of times I CLOSED the stupid merchant window when I was trying to BUY something Wed night.

I wish when they do different versions of zones they would do more of a compromise idea like they did with Unrest.

Both Veeshan's Peak and Mistmoore would be cool to have in both states with a coded npc like Nisha(unrest's) able to send you into/out instances with 1 to 72 players.

Even the time travel idea isn't horrible, you see it in some fantasy. The NPC could send you back in Time to before Mistmoore went into hiding and his more powerful guards(trained by him personally) were still around. With the idea that they slowly died out from adventurers/your actions, to be replaced by newbie guards.

Veeshan's peak could be back before before the Iksar/Ring of Scale wars when the Ring of Scale wasn't weakened by sitting around not using their muscles for anything other than swimming in the lava pools. Use the old and new keys for the weakened version, and the one that goes with the elemental version of the zone for travelling back in time to that.

I agree. The higher level MM should have been an instance with an LDoN type entrance or an NPC who sends you to it. Putting some quest drops in LDoN would be a good way to bring some life back to it, just don't make it so the quest givers live in instanced dungeons.
MM
# Oct 12 2005 at 1:31 AM Rating: Default
Very upset about them changing MM back. The raid targets there were very nice for guilds and really good groups, and were raided quite frequently (especially heyda and hinian). Plenty of other mid level zones for people to hunt in.
RE: MM
# Oct 12 2005 at 3:37 PM Rating: Decent
that is the whole point, no there is not plenty of other mid-level zones (20-50) in the old world.

All of the expansions (except Velious) just got wierder and more abstract (non-fantasy) as they went along. Luclin is the worst. Please tell me how little men on the moon fits into a swords and sorcery epic?
The whole stupid Discord thing just got so pointless Sony finally gave up on it.
I have many characters, my main is almost 61, and I play old world almost exclusively. the loss of MM and Splitpaw was a severe blow to my enjoyment of the game and to many others as well.
I agree with others here that we need a lot more and higher level undead zones. Go Paladins!
and Animal Hunting zones, Go Rangers!
I am now finishing Natimbi (starting to get LB to me) and as far as I (and Allakhazam) can tell, that is probably the last zone that I will be able to solo/fear kite in :-\
(yeah, I know there are a few cats in DoN, big deal)
more zones at different levels with different mobs to let different classes shine is what EQ needs, not just and endless stream of newer harder higher zones filled with incomprehensible monsters that only casters can take on.
remember meleeing Sony?
RE: MM
# Oct 13 2005 at 6:55 PM Rating: Default
Can't say much about the little men but most of luclin is great and is where i spend a ton of time playing around. VT is probably one of my fav raid zones (hate the hp etc but the zone itself is great) I just wish they had put a portal to the plane of shadow in the zone so u could go kill luclin. If they weren't on the moon they wouldn't be as bad i guess since they were taken out of sci-fi instead of more classical fantasy but then i seen people get mad about DoD and thats almost all totaly classic fantasy.
Never Changed

Sorry for those that have 20/19 dagger issues, but Woo Hoo! This zone should never have been revamped that drastically in the first place. Mistmoore, one of my favorite hunting spots for the level, will once again be available to spook around in. =)

Happy Camper here!

Not thinking right
# Oct 11 2005 at 10:35 PM Rating: Decent
Oh man, I would hate to be in the room when those who spent the hours upon hours camping the 10 parts for the Hinlain quest only to get to the 9th part and have the whole zne ripped out from underneath them. I would hate to be the co-worker of this guy who then snaps and goes postal.

Man, that is not only F***ed up on SOE's part, it is downright coldhearted legalism....cold, cold hearted...

Or, maybe they just think this out...

Or, maybe they just moving the quest NPCs...

/shrugs
Glad I chose not to do this quest like everyone else in my guild.

This is a good example where SOE listened to player feedback. Despite the loss of said dagger, as under-used as Mistmoore supposedly was, it was a fun and popular mid level zone.

Lesser Faydark is returning to its previous state in that many of the quest mobs in Mistmoore were moved out into Lesser Faydark.

Lesser Faydark and Mistmoore Castle have been returned to their previous states

What's that actually mean?

Meaning you'll be seeing maybe 2-3 level appropriate people at the zone-in on occasion actually hunting in Castle Mistmoore. You'll see a couple of high level casters in the castle pulling entire floors at a time and casting AE spells until the mobs are dead. :)

And for the rogues, it means that the Rogue Redemption quest goes back to its original state. (Currently, the 'hemo enologist' lives in Lesser Faydark after she got chucked out.)

It means that the revamped Castle Mistmoore will be returning to its previous state. Instead of a 60+ zone it is going back to mid level zone.

One of the things it means is the 20/19 dagger drop from Mistmoore is no longer available ...

Otherwise, instead of the 65+ zone they currently are, with Ele+ raid targets, they'll now be back to their state when EQ went live, 20+ and 25+ hunting zones.

EDIT: originally referred to Mistmoore.

Never should have been re-vamped in the first place.
RE: hmm?

Revamped for it original level range would have been fine. Nothing wrong with adding better quests or improving loot tables.

You want old zones busy, put no-trade drops in that are worth getting at the level you should be there. Won't interest the high end players much but sure would help the newer players with low mains and/or little platinum. Would also appeal to the more hardcore quester (i.e., not using baz, etc.).
