Monk Epic Riddle Solution

Here's the solution. First I'll repeat the riddle: "As an embittered old Iksar king lay on his deathbed, he decided that a race would determine which of his two sons would inherit the throne. The sons were told to sail ships across the Timorous Deep. Because the king didn't particularly like either of his sons, he decided rights to the throne would be given to the son whose ship reached Faydwer last." "So the sons set sail and drifted on the ocean for many months, waiting for the other to reach Faydwer first. When the king finally died and the kingdom was in trouble without a ruler, the sons agreed to dock and seek the advice of a monk living on a secluded isle. After listening to the monk's advice, the two sons got back in the boats and sailed for Faydwer as quickly as possible." "Considering the monk would never betray the wishes of the Iksar king, what was the monk's advice? " The Answer? "The monk told the sons to switch boats."

It's the riddle that matters, not the answer?

Perhaps it's the riddle that matters, not the answer, and that's the riddle.

Actually, based on Darwin's theory of evolution, beer will increase your intelligence. Here is an excerpt from an email sent to me by a friend who was trying to get me to go out on a Saturday night.

A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo, and when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole is maintained or even improved by the regular culling of the weakest members.

In much the same way, the human brain can operate only as fast as the slowest brain cells through which the electrical signals pass. Recent epidemiological studies have shown that while excessive intake of alcohol kills off brain cells, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first.

Thus, regular consumption of beer helps eliminate the weaker cells, constantly making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. The result of this in-depth study verifies and validates the causal link between all-weekend parties and job related performance. It also explains why, after a few short years of leaving a university and getting married, most professionals cannot keep up with the performance of the new graduates. Only those few that stick to the strict regimen of voracious alcoholic consumption can maintain the intellectual levels that they achieve during their college years.

So, this is a call to arms. As our country is losing its technological edge, we must not shudder in our homes. Get back into the bars. Quaff that pint. Share that handle. Your company and country need you to be at your peak, and you shouldn't deny yourself the career that you could have. Take life by the bottle and be all that you can be. Forward this to all of your friends, acquaintances and co-workers that may be in danger of losing their edge.

Actually, the brain does regenerate brain cells through a process known as Neurogenesis. Excercise and certain drugs (Viagara, anti-depressants) have also been shown to stimulate this process. Feasably, some of the cells you destroy in a night of heavy drinking are regenerated by the end of the next day.
