ZAM's Holiday Event Round-Up

A quick look at what our favorite MMOs are doing for the holiday!

Final Fantasy XI:

Merry Starlight, everyone! SE has once again brought back the festival, which runs from December 16th until the end of the month! Past rewards will be available, and players should be on the lookout for goblin gift-grabbers:

Goblin Gift-Grabbers!

A few Goblins haven't quite grasped the spirit of the Starlight Celebration and have mistaken other people's presents for their own! The MHMU is on the lookout for these precious gifts, but needs you to join the search and help set things straight. Simply talk to one of the moogles at the following locations to start saving the holiday season. If the Goblins seem a bit too stingy, talk to a moogle again for a hint or two.

  • Northern San d'Oria (J-9)
  • Bastok Markets (G-8)
  • Windurst Waters (F-9 North)

Check out our topic on it on the ZAM forums!

Final Fantasy XIV:

Merry Starlight... wait, what? Perhaps not. Winter's a little late this year, but FFXIV will still have a Starlight Celebration from December 16th through the 31st. Players can visit Black Rabbit Hirelings in several locations to start the festivities. Check out SE's page on the event for more details or discuss on our forums!;

Lord of the Rings Online:

Turbine has been hard at work developing an entirely new zone for the Yule Festival. Straight from the source: “The residents of Winter-home invite you to celebrate the season with them during this year’s Yule Festival— and what a celebration it will be! This year’s LOTRO Yule Festival is a winter wonderland of activities. The town of Winter-home is a beautiful new Winter Festival region complete with new quests, a snowball arena, an eating contest, a theatre event and a festival square. Don’t miss out!”

Get the inside scoop in some of our articles, the behind-the-scenes creation of this year's festival or see some of the events talked up right from their site here.

Rift:

If you didn't realize that the Fae Yule Celebration has been going on for a few weeks already, you're pretty clueless! The event started November 22nd and kicked off a 6-week world event. Repeatable quests, closing rifts and stopping invasions rewards Unique Snowflakes that Telarans can trade in for great limited time items and pets. Best of all? ZAM has the event covered in our wiki!

World of Warcraft:

Greatfather Winter and the Smokeywood Pastures goblins return again on December 15th as World of Warcraft celebrates the annual Feast of Winter Veil. Limited time quests, recipes and snowballs will be available to players, as well as presents from under the trees in Ironforge and Orgrimmar after the 25th! Our wowhead branch has some of the changes from the test realm as well as a guide to how the previous years' events played out, so check it out and enjoy your Gaudy Winter Veil Sweater!
