ZAM's Holiday Event Round-Up
A quick look at what our favorite MMOs are doing for the holiday!
We're halfway through December, and everyone knows what season it is: holiday event season! All the major MMOs we cover (and many of the smaller ones) have wintery events, offering their players limited time rewards, prizes and content. Here's a quick rundown of what each game is offering in 2011.
EverQuest:
Frostfell is back, and chilly as can be! According to SoE: “It's that time of year again, when Santug Claugg gets ready to give presents to the deserving, and sometimes less than deserving, adventurers of Norrath. Starting December 8, 2011 and running through January 8, 2012, Frostfell will be upon us!
All your old favorite quests will be returning this year, whether it be aiding the Frostfell Goblins in saving Santug or commencing Operation: Jolliness to keep Santug in good spirits. There are also a number of New Year's Adventurers available, so don't forget Pizimp Nobbletod.
As an added bonus, starting on December 14, 2011, a brand new Frostfell quest will be released! Santug Claugg has become obsessed with the Braxi and wants them to pull his sleigh. Unfortunately there has been an incident with the ship transporting the Braxi to Santug and, as a result, Braxi and Gigglegibber Goblins are scattered on beaches throughout Norrath. Make sure to seek them out! Hopefully you're one of the good adventurers who didn't get his/her accounts suspended last Friday!
EverQuest II:
EQ2 is also celebrating a Frostfell event from December 6th until January 3rd. The event includes:
- New Candy Grab competitions in the Commonlands and Antonica!
- Thurgadin Harbor is participating in the celebration!
- The City of Freeport holiday quests were revamped to accommodate Freeport being turned into a single zone. (Note: There are only a few decorations in this zone due to the unveiling of new Freeport at the same time as the holiday.)
- New tradeskill holiday themed dungeon & quests.
- New items available to buy from Gerbi Frostfoot, the permafrostfell merchant in Frostfell, including a new holiday themed mount.
- Tradeskillers can create NEW house items, clothing and wieldables in the Frostfell Wonderland Village. They can buy the new crafting books from Giddlenerf, Guhtosle, Giggawat, and Garsleblat.
- Giddlenerf, Guhtosle, Giggawat, and Garsleblat now also sell some new items.

Aion:
Solorius is back again this year, as Santanyerk offers a quest and some other fun bonuses between December 14th and January 11th. The presents include:
- Double XP weekends for hunting, crafting, and gathering!
- Crab Fest, a winter event held in celebration of charming crustaceans, with holiday treats and festive rewards!
- Fun Solorius themed weapon skins, straight from Santanyerk's Shugo artisans, for purchase in the NCsoft store!
- Fantastic rewards for leveling characters with the reconditioned Adventurer's Guide, now extended through December!

Age of Conan:
The Bloody Solstice event returns from December 13th until January 9th, offering some solo and group quests, as well as four unique social items and variable seasonal consumables. To get started in the Winter seasonal event, just type /claim in-game to receive a "Misplaced Gift". Using that item will get you the first quest including the name and location of the NPC you need to visit first; and you can read more about the event at AoC's page here.
