Mr. T Brings Mohawk Grenades to WoW

What happens when Mr. T hacks into the World of Warcraft? Everyone gets Mohawk Grenades! Starting today in North America, Night Elf Mohawk NPCs are camped outside every starting zone handing out Mohawk Grenades that each contain five charges. Throw these grenades at other characters to give them a Night Elf Mohawk mask!

Once you're out of charges, simply head back to an NPC to get another grenade. The fun starts in Europe and Korea on Nov. 24, and the event lasts until... "well, until the Night Elf Mohawk decides his work is done." Be sure to check out Mr. T's new commercial on the official World of Warcraft YouTube channel to hear what the man himself has to say about the event.

If you have any other questions, check out the Mohawk Grenade FAQ after the jump. Now quit your jibber-jabber and get in the game!

Blizzard Hosts Inaugural Holiday Card Contest

Blizzard is currently hosting its inaugural Holiday Card Contest, which means creative players have the opportunity to win a Razer gaming package and this year's official holiday card signed by Samwise Didier for submitting their festive design. All you need to do is download the template and submit a card based on the Diablo, StarCraft, or Warcraft universes by Dec. 7.

In addition to receiving all those prizes, Blizzard will make the designs of the three winners available to players for use as their own cards this holiday season. Will you be entering the contest?

Blizzard Releases Humorous Jace Hall Interview

Blizzard recently sent out a video from its archives to all of the World of Warcraft fansites, and our friends over at Wowhead have posted it in their blog. The video is an interview Jace Hall conducted with Blizzard staff members that originally aired on Dec. 15, 2008, which was about a month after the launch of Wrath of the Lich King.

The interview was conducted completely for fun and shows that the Blizzard team has a good sense of humor about its work. Head over to Wowhead to watch Jeff Kaplan, Tom Chilton, and J. Allen Brack explain why gnomes are the best race in the game and see the development of the epic pink unicorn mount. Jace even asks the team for some help in settling an old rivalry with Felicia Day.

While we're on the topic of Wrath's one-year anniversary, ZAM user ArexLovesPie has started a thread in our general forum asking for your honest opinion on the expansion. What are your thoughts on Wrath of the Lich King one year after its launch?

Quel'delar Weapon Models and Stats Revealed

Some of you may remember our report when Blizzard released new lore of Quel'delar, the sister blade of Quel'Serrar, in a patch 3.3 preview earlier this month. Since it was learned the sword would be available for players to obtain through an Icecrown-related quest chain, forum members and fansite communities have been on the edge of their seats, speculating what kind of weapon stats the Quel'delar will have, and which classes will be able to use it. We've known that several versions of the weapon would be available to widen its accessibility, although the details were just recently discovered a few days ago.

There are four different versions of the Quel'delar; a one-handed spellblade, a one-handed melee blade, and two separate two-handed swords, all with an item level of 251. Check out this Wowhead link to view them all. The quest chain also offers comparable mace versions for non-sword classes; check out this page to see all three maces (in the rewards section, toward the bottom). Keep in mind that all stats and info is still in the PTR, and could be tweaked before patch 3.3 goes live.

New Buff/Debuff Management System Explained

Zarhym is asking players on the PTR to provide feedback on the new interface system for managing buffs and debuffs. According to the PTR 3.3 patch notes, players have two new features to enable: a Castable Debuffs option that will cause only debuffs you have cast on an enemy target to appear, and a Consolidate Buffs box near the mini-map that will contain the icons for very short term and very long term buffs.

So what exactly goes into that consolidation box? Greg "Ghostcrawler" Street provided an explanation later in the thread: "Very spammy things that you are grateful for but don't need to be reminded of constantly (say Replenishment) go in the box. Long-term buffs go into the box with a couple of exceptions." Things with short ranges, like totems or auras, stay out of the box, as do things very core to your class or anything related to a specific encounter.

"The other new option, the castable debuffs, is a way to just see 'your stuff' on a target, especially a raid boss. If you want to see your Corruption and CoA and not every lock's dots, it works well for that," Ghostcrawler said. Both of the tools are off as the default, so be sure to turn them on and try them out on the PTR.

Diablo III Launch Not Planned Until at Least 2011

According to Kotaku, Activision Blizzard Chief Financial Officer Thomas Tippl confirmed during a presentation in New York today that Diablo III is not scheduled to be released until at least 2011. Cataclysm, StarCraft II and the updated Battle.net should be set to launch in 2010.

Diablo III, the StarCraft II expansions and Blizzard's unannounced MMO were all filed under the "next few years" category on a slide outlining the company's lineup. It should come as no surprise that World of Warcraft is at the top of Blizzard's list for the foreseeable future.

With the launch of Diablo III not scheduled to happen anytime soon, it looks like you'll have plenty of time to check out Torchlight or play through Diablo II again. And again.

New Site Creates WoW Character Posters

Have you ever wanted a poster featuring your World of Warcraft character? Well, now you can create one with the help of a new site. Heroic Prints, in collaboration with Blizzard, has launched PrintWarcraft.com to create customized posters for WoW players. The site pulls your character's data from the Armory and lets you choose from more than 100 backgrounds and 24 poses, as well as various borders, fonts and sizes.

In addition, players can take snapshots of their characters over time and save them in their PrintWarcraft account. Players can currently make a 12" x 18" poster for $17.99, a 24" x 36" poster for $24.99, and a 27" x 40" poster for $29.99. More information can be found in the FAQ.

While you're designing your poster, don't forget to check out FigurePrints if you'd like a statue of your character. It looks like you'll be able to completely decorate your room with your toons.

PUG with Blues Again on PTR Today, Nov. 11

Did you join a PUG with members of the World of Warcraft development and community teams last week on the PTR? Whether you were able to participate in the event or missed your chance, you'll have another opportunity today, Nov. 11, at 4 p.m. PST. Zarhym said the Blizzard team will be testing the new dungeon system by grouping with players.

All you need to do is queue up for a random Heroic through the Dungeon tool on the PTR for a chance to play with some blue posters. They will all have a <GM> tag in front of their names and have the Blizzard logo next to their text in chat. Zarhym said later in the thread that most of the Blizzard employees will stop queueing around 6 p.m. PST, but a few might continue to play after that.

Shaman Tier 10 Preview Posted on Sneak Peek Page

The Tier 10 preview page on the European World of Warcraft site was updated today with the Shaman armor set, which means the designs for all of the classes have officially been revealed. While the European site got to it first, the North American page just received the Shaman update as well.

The Shaman reveal comes after the Priest and Paladin sets were officially posted last week. You can check out the Shaman set after the jump. Personally, I like it better than the Priest and Pally designs. What do you think?

Also, our friends at Wowhead have been hard at work keeping their Patch 3.3 guide updated. Be sure to check out their Tier 10 page to see all of the armor sets in 3D. The Shaman set should be up there soon.
