It's official!  Sony Online Entertainment has announced SOE Live. As we reported last week when a banner accidently went live on the SOE Live site, the annual celebration of all SOE Games wiill be August 1 - 4, 2013, at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. Ticket and hotel pricing are not yet available so stay tuned!

Formerly known as Fan Faire, SOE Live is the ultimate gathering for the SOE community. It provides players an opportunity to celebrate their favorite games across SOE's popular portfolio of titles, including: DC Universe Online, Dragon's Prophet, EverQuest, EverQuest II, Free Realms, PlanetSide 2, PoxNora, Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures, and Vanguard Saga of Heroes. Fans of all ages are welcome to meet the talented people behind some of the online world's most successful games, and gain access to developer panel discussions, major company announcements, game tournaments, player gatherings, premium swag and more. In addition to various social events, SOE hosts developer panel discussions and game-themed live events, giving attendees a chance to voice their opinions of current and upcoming game content.

While there has not yet been a formal announcement, today astute Facebook users noticed that the banner on the SOE Live webpage had been updated with a 2013 date and location. It looks like the event will run from August 1 - 4 at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas.

SOE Live is Sony Online Entertainment's annual convention, formerly known as Fan Faire.

Confirmed earlier this week by John Smedley on Twitter, there is a Triple SC deal running on December 21. Players can enjoy this bonus Station Cash deal a bit early - Linda "Brasse" Carlson just mentioned on Twitter that the offer is already live (we just redeemed a SC code and can personally confirm this)! The deal runs until 11:59pm PST on Friday, December 21, 2012. It will include every form of Station Cash purchases excluding SMS payments. Happy Frostfell to all!

Some astute players in the Planetside 2 Reddit community discovered a picture in their game folder for a Triple Station Cash event on December 21. John Smedley just confirmed on Twitter that there will indeed be Triple SC on that day. The offer runs from 12:01am PST through 11:59pm PST on Friday, December 21, 2012. It will include every form of Station Cash purchases excluding SMS payments. We'll remind you of this event again later next week!

Today's a two-shot of Sony Online Entertainment news. For one, their Player Studio has launched - in the footsteps of Valve's TF2 and Dota 2 engines, players can now create their own content to be in EverQuest and EverQuest II, and sell it for real-world money. Above, pictured, are some of the first player-created items. The cape and the chest are the sweetest part of that deal, adding complexity and design to player choices. 

Additionally, SOE has also said that Wizardry Online will be launching on January 16th. Today there will be a webcast at the usual place, on the SOE webcast channel, with Omeed Dariani (Senior Global Brand Manager), Todd Carson (Sr. Producer) and Rod Haza (Associate Producer), who will be talking about some of the changes coming to WO before the launch.

SOE is offering a one day only deal on Friday, November 23, 2012 for double Station Cash! Any SC purchased with credit card or pre-paid game cards (redeemed as Station Cash, not as game time) will be doubled in value. SMS purchases are excluded. This deal is valid until 11:59pm PST tonight!

UPDATE 7:35am PST: Game logins appear to be functioning again. Your Station Cash balance may unavailable until SOE fully finishes their maintenance, so don't be alarmed if it's displaying the wrong amount.

We have found out that many SOE game logins are currently under an unscheduled maintenance, which has caused players to be disconnected from their games and unable to log back in. The forums and account management logins are also subject to the same login issues. The reason for the maintenance is unknown. If you are still online you may get disconnected if you zone or change characters.

We are currently doing some unscheduled maintenance that is affecting logins. We anticipate it done shortly and appreciate your patience.
