City of Heroes' Player Help System Outlined

Being a new player in a seven-year-old MMO can seem overwhelming, which is why Paragon Studios added the new Player Help System to City of Heroes in Issue 20: Incarnates. The team just published an article that outlines the main points of the feature, which allows veteran players to become "Helpers" and new players to ask for guidance.

Players who become "Helpers" will earn a gold name and the Helper title. The Help Channel has also received some upgrades to make it easier for new players to find. Are you a veteran player or a new recruit in City of Heroes?

City of Heroes is Running Out of Experience Points

Ever wonder why the City of Heroes level cap is stuck at 50? Today, April 1, Senior Designer Matt "Positron" Miller finally admitted that Paragon Studios is simply running out of experience points. This finite source has almost run dry, and the team predicts that they'll completely deplete their stockpile in one year on April 1, 2012.

This is a sad day indeed for all heroes. Conserve your experience points before they run out!

Nate Birkholz Recalls PAX in New Producer's Letter

The latest City of Heroes producer's letter from Nate “Second Measure” Birkholz recaps the team's PAX East experience. The CoH team hosted a meet and greet on Friday night in which the team was happy to get some one on one time with the fans.

Saturday was panel day and while Matt "Positron" Miller was ill, Birkholz, Senior Environment Artist Ryan “No Redname” Roth and Associate Community Manager Tia “Avatea” Paraurahi were on hand to announce the upcoming Global Server List.

The producer's letter also covers what will become of multiples of charater names once the Global Server List is implemented. The team has worked very hard to listen to the community in order to provide solutions that work for most everyone. The letter also covers Issue 20: Incarnates, which is launching next week.

Upgrade to the NCsoft Launcher in CoH for loot!

In an effort to bring all of their players together under one universal launcher, NCsoft is certainly not above some good old fashioned bribery, and they're asking all long-time CoH players who have been using CoH's independent updater to switch over to the universal NCsoft Launcher. By switching, not only will you gain access to the new launcher's fancy technology (ooooh, background downloading), but the team at Paragon Studios will also give you the new Wisp Aura... for free!

In reality, this switch looks like it's going to be mandatory, but if you switch over now, you'll get a shiny new Wisp Aura!
