Well we've managed to somewhat sidestep the drama. One of our players left to go join the navy or something, and ironically it was his character that got killed by the wizard. So between that, extensive discussions on the forum and some DM shenanigans involving magicking the body away in a cloud of black smoke, we've managed to just sort of move on with the campaign.
We spent most of the session hanging out on another plane of existence and swindling shop owners and our employer. Then it's back to the prime material plane(or our DM's version of it, since he's using his own multiverse) and on to some dwarven city that has goblinoid armies marching on it.
Our party got sent to go warn the monastery and when we arrived we found a bunch of goblins munching on what we assume to be the inhabitants of the monastery. During the battle my brand new magical armor, specially crafted by our otherworldly employer's best craftsman manages to not block a single attack and I end up face down in the dirt. Our cleric saved my ***, but a whole bunch of really good dice rolls by the DM just wrecked me at the start. At this point my character's probably wondering if our employer didn't set him up with some cursed armor since he was the one who brought up the issue of being compensated for our efforts.
