The other thread made me wonder about this, and not just from Kirby, but from everyone.

it's definitely a Kirby anime
What defines an anime such that when you watch it, you say that kind of thing? Even with an eclectic viewing habit, is there a type of anime that really is your type? What makes it so?

Nobody else I know really enjoys the shows I do, or at least, for the reasons I enjoy them.

I feel like relationship development is a lot more important to me than for my friends. And not just the romantic types.
Dynamic characters are definitely key, but I'm more about how they interact with each other.

I also really need a good sound track to keep me in the mood. I get really absorbed in a show I like, and it detracts from my experience if the show has lackluster or generic background music.

Hmmm, what else. I'm not a fan of choreographed action sequences, like the space battles in the majority of shows that Dorion likes. It feels incredibly preplanned, so I'm not sure how he can enjoy it.

Idk, I'm kinda drunk. But there are definitely shows that my friends will say are a 'Kirby' anime.

To be honest though, my friends also joke about some shows being a 'Kirby' anime, just because it's really cutesy or some ****.

I feel ya there. I'm much the same amongst my roommates. At least, I take it to a greater degree than they do. What's kind of weird is that while they usually love shows like this when I suggest em, if left to their own devices, they watch things like Naruto and Bleach.

Amen. Hell, I think that's what I most love about Heroic Age. I'm fairly sure I could watch 12 hours of grass growing(asparagus grows pretty fast, so maybe that) if it was set to the tune the OST seems to title "Heroic Age".

Ultimately for me, anime that my people I know in the non-net world would title "That's a Pold anime" always follows one descriptor: Girly. Sometimes it's josei, sometimes shoujo. Other times it's just set in the Pink Bishoujo Ghetto and leaves you asking "What Do You Mean, It's Not For Little Girls?"

If you click any of my links and get mad about them being TVTropes, you obviously haven't been paying attention.

Yeah, Heroic Age's soundtrack is definitely the best part of the show. I have yet to see more of it though.
I can probably catch up tonight though, just because my LoL friends are playing DIablo 3.
