I started playing XI again. It will likely be generally regarded as a bad move. Also how the hell do you solo 3 jobs to 30 in 10 hours or less? This is not the same game I used to play.

I kind of like the changes to levelling at low levels and how significantly faster it is. Especially given no one parties any more.

I don't know about solo, but you could easily level many jobs to 30 within 10 hours.

Check it for super fast leveling!

The retarded necessity of partying was the only thing that made FFXI worth playing. FFXI was bad, but at least it was bad in a different way than many other MMORPGs. Now it's no longer notable.

Ranperre's tomb gets me from 10 to 27 in a couplehours with GoV. It has been working fairly well. I am still waiting on them to recover my old character. Any have a decent social ls on bahamut?

This might be it, but I'm not sure Smiley: tongue

Also, playing some FF13-2 that I didn't (and wouldn't) purchase.

Old character was on ramuh, therefore when i recover it, it will be on bahamut but i could easily be convinced to move.

Meh. I already left again for SWTOR. The new XI is better then the old that was 3 years ago (when I last played). Can't say it is at crack level imo.

eh, I have no interest in SWTOR. For people interested in an mmo that doesn't look like all the other mmos out there - which is set in a fantasy environment (sorry don't really care for starwars franchise tbh) and has interesting abilities/classes... well there isn't much else to choose from.

I'm not a fan of having to roll a new character to try a different class - nor am I a fan of "abilities" which are all just 5 second boosts and crap. I dunno. I tried WoW again, got bored before level 15 - so I can't see myself liking any of the mmos with class and ability systems that look just like WoW.

I could see myself giving everquest/II a try - it seems more up my alley but really, meh.

If you like good story telling and quests, you may enjoy swtor, even if you don't really care for a star wars environment. Bioware really did a bang up job when it came to quality of the content.

I am pretty meh about quests - WoW for instance - I disliked it strongly because the quest focus made the game into a solo fest

if I want to solo 24/7 I will play an offline game
#22 Feb 14 2012 at 5:57 PM Rating: Excellent
You get a companion (and others as you level) so its not solo >.>

But yea the Class Story lines are pretty good, even the normal long quest chains are nice. They are all voice over and that is pretty neat.

If I had more play time, when I quest I would offer to team up with people. You get rewarded for being in groups through Social Points that let you buy Gear (to help customize yourself).

There are also Group +2 & +4 quests, these are suggested group size (2 peeps, or 4) and instances that can take 2-4 people.

Is it open world or all instanced?
#24 Feb 15 2012 at 12:42 PM Rating: Excellent
Hmm. It is open world(s), as you level you move to a different world. Each world has many larger sections that you then quest through.
Each side goes to different worlds, or so it seems. Not really ran into any emps on my rep guy.

Towards the end of most significant missions (quests) you do enter an instanced zone, especially if it requires or may require specific kills such as a boss type mob, or if there is an NPC that will die or will show up elsewhere, since you wouldn't want that NPC in the open world.
