Remember the old days when hard drive space was a commodity and you had to pick and choose what to keep on your computer? I am apparently upgrading my laptop to a whopping 128 gb hard drive in a couple days. How the hell am I supposed to keep my computer under 128 gigs? It will be an adventure I think.

I have 250 gb on my desktop and that's pretty much all my storage.

While applications do increase in size over time, I find that most people are just compulsive digital hoarders. I don't keep shiz I don't intend to use on my computer. When I watch a television series, I delete it after I'm done. If I need it again I'll reacquire it. I don't keep games I don't play on my computer.

When I buy a new desktop I'll probably get whatever the standard size HDD is at the time, probably around the 2+ TB range. I might loosen my belt a little then, but most people are just bad organizers and prioritizes.

I have 1TB, I keep most anime after I watch it. If I'm under 100GB of free space I just delete the ones I'm least likely to watch again.

Being able to hoard Bluray quality is nice.

Ok so Windows is a rough 22 gigs of space, Steam uses 30 odd for all the games I actually play on a fairly regular basis. Touhou is roughly 10 odd gigs but that is all of the touhou games. 20 odd gigs for music and movies. 82 gigs w/o any bloat that occurs over time.

Who needs to hoard bluray quality when you could just play a bluray on your laptop?

If I get a new portable hard drive that doesn't take a power outlet I think I can make it work, The portable would be for work when I end up on location for a week or two, and need lots of movies.

I have 297 free of 576 GB. I bet that # would drop a lot if I deleted all this music I have just sitting on this computer.

I <3 HD space. In the old old Desktop I was using before this laptop, I had to Master/slave HDDs for room, and had 3 others to swap out as needed (one had nothing but music, one had movies/pics, one had games on it).

It is nice not having to do that atm.

This reminds me I should clean out my hard drive. I always accidentally download the same pdf I already downloaded 18 times. I frigging hate the temp folder - so buried I always forget to look there, but that's where all this junk saves to. Grrr.
