I bought the gift of Skyrim, a few DVD's, a 32" LCD TV for me mum, some drinking glasses, a downloaded copy of Game of Thrones season one for my obsessed brother and his girlfriend. I also got her a gift certificate to her favorite tattoo shop and some smaller gifts for friends and family. I have no idea what other people got for me this year. I feel good regardless since I also donated a nice chunk to charity and also ongoing amounts to charity from my biweekly checks over 2012. We're all going to die anyway, amirite?

I actually kicked *** and bought a bunch of gifts for myself as well to celebrate four months without cigarettes and mostly because I couldn't pass up the ridiculous good prices. This included around fifteen blu-ray movies, eight PS3 games, two Wii game. I should also be getting my new car at tax time so pretty excited about that. Seriously though, I have enough to keep me occupied through 2012 and I'm still getting a Vita at some point.

With all I got for myself, I'll be happy getting new socks. Smiley: grin

Can you play? I wish I had picked up a bottle of rum yesterday. I have eggnog but no liquor. I think I'm going to go play some Symphony of the Night. Smiley: frown

Naw, but I want to learn. I'd like to try the drums too, but I'd need my own place for that.

Can't be pissing off my apartment neighbors lol.

Also, didn't get a guitar, but I got some Wii stuff, and a ton of clothes I wasn't willing to purchase myself.

How did you not know this? I sold my Wii the first time around because it had become a paper weight five months prior and I was unemployed in 2009. This was one game I HAD planned to buy originally had **** not gone down.

A Boy and His Blob was an essential game for my childhood and all that gay ****. Also, Lode Runner, Contra, Dragon Warr...OH GODS RETRO REMINISCENT LOOP

The best part is that I bought my new Wii in October if memory serves and it has SAT AS A PAPER WEIGHT AGAIN because I wanted to platinum trophy Arkham City and was playing Skyrim. Now I started Castlevania: SOTN and I just got Guitar Hero 3/5 and Rockband 1/2 the other day. I still also have Skyward Sword, Paper Mario, Galaxy 2, Mario Kart, Resistance 3 and Killzone 3 to play. Stupid *** first world problems. That's totally forgetting that I plan to buy a Vita at launch.

It's actually a bit depressing because I don't think i can do all that and I will be out and about a lot more coming up soon.

yeah #firstworldproblems all the way.

Merry Christmas folks.

Round here we didn't do gift exchange which was nice.

I've been debating getting a Vita, a lot of it will depend on whether I have money when it comes out cause me and my sweetie are moving in together in Feb. and that is an expensive thing, also if the battery life totally sucks I will be on the fence about it until I see some games I actually want to play - so far nothing announced is anything I would care to pick up, I don't see a lot of point in getting a system that I don't want any of the games for. (although that didn't stop me from getting a 3DS... but my DS broke so needed something to play the games on)

I'm a little sad that the games will be all DLed as well, even though I have a decent amount of games DLed already, there is something nice about owning the disc, I dunno, I am old fashioned like that - besides the fact that Sony's proprietary memory cards cost an arm and a leg - I spent I think 80 bucks on my 16 GB card for my PSP - so that adds a lot of cost to the system if it is going to be functional in any real way - and if all the newer games are DL only we can probably expect them to take up 2GB or more each so, if you're like me and want to have a LOT of games to choose from (which I never finish) I'll need the biggest card they sell, so a 250 dollar system then becomes a 400 dollar system... meh.

Two things:

The memory cards are somewhat reasonable. A 4 GB card will cost $29.99 ('ssuming you're in 'Merica). All the information, including the games you choose to download, can easily be moved back and forth to your computer or other HDD using the same/similar system currently in place for PSPGo.

The games will still be sold in stores on cards that will fit in a different slot than the memory card. Granted, some of the indie games and smaller games may be PSN only but isn't that the way it already is with a lot of games through Live and PSN?

Electric drum kit they would barely even be able to tell if you were practicing drums. Unfortunately practicing is all an electric kit is good for.

Ehh, they get pissy when I play around with Rock Band drums.

Not quite the same, etc. But you get my point.

That's the thing with an electric drum kit, you don't need to hit them very hard to generate a lot of sound, or a real drum kit for that matter.
