Though I'm not mad about queue times in general. After the initial launch rush, I'm sure the times will be very short. I'd rather have to wait 5-10 minutes to play on a populated server than have them add too many servers and end up with thin populations.

If anyone is getting it, I'm on Jung Ma server.

Anyway, I had fun in the beta. It's nice if you liked the KOTOR games. The quests and story are all voice-acted, and are really where the game shines. If you are the type of player who likes to just burn through quests to get to cap and farm endgame, I'm not sure it's the game for you.

I'm playing Empire side, but I could roll a Republic character.

I didn't like the 30mins I played in the beta, but then I've never liked RPG/MMO's where I couldn't use a controller.

I watched a friend who was pondering about the game play for about 15min or so.
Looked like Star Trek, and that game blew.
But other friend who's account we were on loves the game, but he just fails at selling it. I'll give it some time maybe. See if it lasts. Being a Sith would be fun.

Some of the Sith missions are hilarious, if you like murdering anyone and everyone in your path.

Still not on sale here yet. I'm still also torn as to whether I'm going to get it or not. I most likely will, but I'll procrastinate anyway.

I was thinking of trying it because I need an mmo to love but I don't like the look of the ability/job system and none of the jobs really make me go "ooooh I want to try that"

From what I got from a friend, any Class/job can fill in any role via their abilities. That seems kind of over board. I like games with solid This is a tank class, and These are the DPS classes, and over Here are the mage-type.

This is the first MMO that might drag me away from FFXI. I loved KOTOR. But I've limited myself to one mmo at a time.

You still have skill trees that determine your role. I'm playing Assassin, and while I do get some of teh same abilities as the DPS specs, my tanking tree has more defensive abilities. It's like in WoW, you can level Paladin and get abilities used by all the roles you can fill, but you aren't going to be very effective trying to preform in one role while spec'd for another.

Assassin is an Advanced Class from the base Inquisitor. At the outset, you can say "hey, Inquisitors can be melee DPS, ranged DPS, tanks, or healers!" But really, one of their Advanced Classes can be either melee DPS or tanks, and the other AC can be healers or ranged DPS. You really aren't switching your role up on the fly.

All the starting classes do have paths you can take to playing DPS, healer or tank, but again, it's not like you are switching. You can respec by paying a fee, but you currently cannot change your AC. Really, it's not any more overboard than WoW is with regards to classes and roles.

Perrin, you should ask =25 if there is any easy work around for stuff like that. If there is, someone there will have the answer.

I don't know anything about Origin. I bought a physical copy, after seeing how much everyone hated dealing with Origin with Battlefield 3.

Pfft.

Well, I'm sure the Republic stories are good, too. I'll probably roll a Smuggler to DPS or Jedi Knight to tank. Or I could roll my mirror class and tank on that. Whatever.

I thought the physical copy still forced Origin? I personally don't like it... all my friends are on Steam. However it's not as bad as a lot of folks are making it out to be.... other than the exclusive crap.

Nah, physical copy doesn't force you to use Origin at all.

Just saw this and now I really want to play.
I might go buy KOTOR next week just to get it out of my system.
